Hi. First off, I'd like to say I'm new to the forum, but I've read through most of the messages on this section. I've been checking out the T60p as an option to replace my aging Dell Latitude D800.
One thing I'm confused about is the lack of configuration on the ibm site for the T60p. I'd like to select either the fastest or second fastest processor, 2 gigs of ram, largest 7200 RPM HD available, 1600x1200 15 inch screen, etc.
I don't see many those options available yet - is that something I have to wait for? Work is paying for my laptop (and I'm a programmer, so I need the speed and memory badly), so the sky is almost the limit.
Are these custom systems going to be available, or am I 'stuck' with one of the pre-configured systems? None seem to come with the setup I want, and I have checked the levono PDF that lists all their laptop configs.
Also, is the warantee policy good? I currently have the dell 'complete care' policy, where I can call them and say "I dumped a can of coke in my keyboard, come fix it tomorrow" and they are out within 24-48 hours to fix my machine at work or my house. How does IBM's compare? Or do you find you don't need a lot of service to your laptop (I've had 4 service calls in under 3 years to dell, which is why I was thinking of going IBM...)
Thanks!
Ordering options for T60p missing?

you really cant configure an IBM machine the same way you can a Dell online - to do configurations like you want youll have to call up lenovo and tell em what you want in your machine, im pretty sure you can do it that way.
any part that is user replaceable that screws up, IBM will overnight you the part. Called in about a keyboard, had a new one within 2 days (shipping overhead...) but for osmething like screen replacement, youll have to send it in or, if you get the on spot warranty, theyll come out and fix it for you. not sure if they have anything like complete care though, id just call a rep and talk to them about it - really the best way to get that kind of info.
