T60 discounts

Hello,

I'm brand new to these forums having recently decided to order a ThinkPad. I've read in a couple of threads that when calling in an order for high end T60s, some are getting discounts up to 20%. I just called Lenovo and talked to a sales rep and mentioned this. He had no knowlege of any discounts on T60s except what may be offered to businesses.

The model I'm trying to order is the 2623-DDU which list for around $3000. Can anyone give me the name of a sales rep they spoke with that give them the discount?

Yep. Boy I spotted this one!

Nobody can mention a name. I tried to get the discount mentioned in other threads but had no luck (with two reps) on the phone. They just wouldn't do it.

Some of us are just destined to pay that [censored] MSRP, dude.

Another thing is that these Express models seem to already be discounted. I was trying to get a discount off of the $3849 2007-94U.

Maybe you'd have better luck asking for the "new customer discount" on a 2007 series.

Last month, there was a $800 discount on the 2007-94U. I remember a few people on the forum taking advantage of that discount.

I've called twice and can't get the discount. In fact, there are two posts here regarding the discount that refer to the sales rep as a "SHE" and I've been told there are no female sales reps that answer the phone at Lenovo, so they have no idea who could have been authorizing the discount.

I guess I will be paying list...
