Is the 9-cell battery bigger than the 6-cell battery physically? Does the 9-cell battery protrude out from the rear?

yes, and yes.

To reiterate and fine-grain the question. Does it protrude from the rear of both the 14.1" T60 and the 15" T60?

If yes, are the dimensions they've given me (13 in x 10.6 in x 1.4 in)[1] without the 9-cell battery for my T60p? And if yes, how much will the 10.6" now become approximately?

EDIT: I rushed and checked the fine print on the specifications, and it says these dimensions include the battery. Oddlly enough, that just made me more confused.

Basically the only cross compatible accesories now are Z60 > T60 > X60. They all use the same power adapters, higher voltage for faster charging (and more wattage through the same thickness cables), and I also believe the dock connector was improved and updated between all of them.
