How, or where do you identify part numbers anyway?

Nope, they are shipping with Thinkpad logo, but the IBM portion has been removed. Lenovo's contract with IBM specified two dates, one for usage of IBM logo, and another for usage of the thinkpad logo. We are somewhere after the first date now.

I ordered a close out T60 (2623DDU) on the 28th. and they show ship date of 5/15. I called and they told me that it was discontinued and out of stock. Why would they still be showing it as scheduled to ship?

Anybody hear of this?

So I got mine on saturday. Awesome laptop!!!!

I'm still considering whether or not I should do a clean install of vista x64 or leave 32-bit vista installed.

For those that don't want to wait, consider watching ebay. There are nicely configured ones showing up every day, but they usually only last for a few hours so you've got to check periodically for a few days.

I received an email saying it shipped on 05/14/2007.

I ordered a t60p (8743), estimated ship date was 5/21 and they tried to deliver it today (5/15) but I was out - it was waiting for them to get new stock of LCD...

Give them a call and they should be able to tell you what they are waiting for.

My 2623-DDU order was delayed until May 25th. A sales rep called me today and he tried to sell me a wide screen T60 again. I denied that offer and then he said my order for the 2623-DDU would be cancelled because there were none available.

I found the same model at MacMall.com for around the same price and I am waiting patiently for the package to arrive. So if anybody is still interested in buying the 2623-DDU here is your chance!

No, I ordered a 8743CTO, very similiar to brr5's, but with 2 gb of ram. I ordered it on April 20, was told when I put it in the cart that it would be a 1 to 2 week wait. After actually placing the order, it told me the estimated ship date was May 16, almost a month after the order date. It actually shipped on the 13th. Hope this helps!

Has anyone received a T60p in the last week, or so that still had the old IBM Thinkpad logo Badge on it? My new 60p is scheduled for delivery on Friday the 18th. Just curious as to what shell I will be receiving.

I ordered a 1 gig card from newegg and have it in hand already to install as soon as my Thinkpad arrives. The savings was 1/2 of the normal price.
I just hope I didn't go wrong with Vista and Office.
But I have XP and Office 2003 if I need to install it.

Yeah, I decided just to spend a little extra on the factory memory because small parts and my hands don't go well together, plus I wasn't sure if that would void my 4 year warranty. I worried about Vista as well, but I'd have to get it eventually...

I ordered an 8743CT on 4/30. The estimated shipping date is 5/24 and I'm still waiting. I'll post an update once it ships.

8743-CTO ordered on 4/12, delivered 5/3. It has the IBM Thinkpad logo at the right front. On the right display, at the botton, it says lenovo T60p

Thanks for the reply Jon. Perfect timing. I'm in Virginia and just received mine this morning. I've only gotten through the initial setup, but you're right this TP is beautiful and mine too has the good ole' IBM logo. I was concerned before I opened it because the shipping invoice stated it had the X1450 installed. I called Lenovo and they instructed me to open and boot it up, then check the properties. All is well, it reads that the GL v5250 is installed. ALLELUIA

Take care down there in the "sunshine state".

Hey Mic1, no problem. I had exactly the same thing happen. The packing list show X1450... I call, and they send me another build list that shows the GL v5250. And assured me it was built that way. I wasn't going to open the box!! Let me know how you like it.

I ordered my 14" T60 on 4/27/07 when my state had free sales tax on computers under $1500. Lenovo shipped it via UPS yesterday 5/17/07. Presently it is in Kentucky with the following exception:

A SPECIAL CUSTOMS DELAY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS LIVE ENTRY

Hopefully it won't take too long to get to me. As soon as the new Hitachi 200GB HD is available, I am replacing the stock drive with it.

May this machine serve me as long as my T30.

What's up with your battery? I assume you referring to the extended size. I'm somewhat disappointed with the protusion (?) from the rear. I might order a extra (6) volt and use the (9) as a spare.

Thanks for the idea, I'm calling Lenovo back now to request a new build sheet also.

Ordered my 2613-CTO with 15 in. SXGA+ and Flexview on May 14, and it was delivered this morning before 10 am on May 21. The UPS tracking report said the shipment experienced various "exceptions" in Ontariio, Calif., on arrival from China. Presumably the box was being scanned for drugs, or snakes, or illegal antiques, but I can't see where it impacted delivery to any appreciable extent.

When I ordered the T60 the original estimated shipping date from China was 5/28/07, so Lenovo beat that date by quite a bit.

In reply to Mic1 re: IBM branding on T60's, my new Core2Duo which arrived today has the IBM ThinkPad logo on the back of the screen (in the corner) and also has the same IBM ThinkPad logo on the palmrest. The only place it says Lenovo is beneath the display, near the right hinge, in smallish white letters.

You actually have to search a bit to find the Lenovo branding.

Well, I think Lenovo may have just lost my business. I ordered an 8743CT on 4/30, and the estimated shipping date has been listed as 5/24 up until this morning (the morning of 5/24). Now it suddenly shows 6/17.

I've had Thinkpads in the past, and they are great machines, but it was bad enough to wait over 3 weeks, and six weeks or more is just rediculous.

I'm calling later today to see what the hold up is, but if I can't get a machine shipped soon, I'll have to purchase elsewhere.

Here's the order, in case anyone's interested:

Delivered on 5/16

Can you post your config? Other than the video card for the T60p, I wonder what else is different from mine that let yours ship so quickly.

Edit:
I called Lenovo, they said they ran out of the 15.4" screens in mid-May, and that's the delay. They claim a new shipment is scheduled to arrive by the end of this week, but couldn't explain why my new estimated ship date is still more than 3 weeks out.

I'm going to start shopping for other options again. I really want a TP, but I'm not sure if I can give my money to a company that operates this way.
