Well disregard my question. My product shipped today. Ordered on the 28th and shipped today. I did not however upgrade it as I figured Id rather get the machine faster and upgrade the memory myself.

It is the 195144U, the lower end of the models. I am fine with it pretty much, althogh the screen could have been better. But I can deal with that.

Adding the ram yourself is definately faster and cheaper! Unless Lenovo was running a special on the memory, then it might have been cheaper, but you can almost always get ram cheaper elsewhere.

2007-64u

#154 Post by davidj » Mon Apr 03, 2006 3:18 pm

I orderd my t-60 ( 2007-64U ) on the 3/30 and I've watched my ship date move from 4/19 to 4/23. Today was the only day that the ship date hasn't changed. From what I read on the forum the date at this point should change to something insane like 5/15, then a few days later from now it should be at my door step? :)

I am expecting to get it around 4-15 to 4-20.

I did get the ram upgrade (512mb special), but I don't know if they are going to install it or if I will get it in a separate package?

Has anyone else received their 2007-64U ( the $850 off special) yet?

-D

i have the exact configuration as you, 2623ddu with 2gb of ram. i ordered 2/28 and i am also seeing a ship date of 5/19. Yours will most likely ship before mine so please tell me when it does so that i can get my hopes up of receiving mine soon after lol

I ordered a T60 2623D6U on 3/9 and just got notice that it shipped today, 4/4. For the past few weeks the estimated ship date was sliding each day and was at like 5/19. I emailed my lenovo rep. because this was longer than the 3-6 weeks he quoted me, and he said it was automatically updated and not to worry. So it ended up shipping after 3.5 weeks, so they were accurate about what to expect. Looking forward to getting it later this week!

i called lenovo today about the status of my order

2623DDU - 2gb ram, he told me another 1-3 weeks  . Then he decided he wanted to check and see where i am on the waiting list and he said i was 22 out of around 225 or something. hopefully that means they can get this thing to me before 3 weeks.

Andy, same exact experience. Couldn't tell me when, just that it would be "within 6-8 weeks from the date of order" - and today is EXACLY 6 weeks after. So I am sitting here, having ordered the machine on the 22nd, and waiting forever to get it, meanwhile, people are getting the DDUs left and right. I must have done something bad to Ghandi in my former life cause my karma is f*cked

After returning a T-43, 15’’ machine. I re ordered a 14’’ T-60 2623D6 on 03/07/06. The original ship date was 04/13/06 but the ship date started to jump around and was May 5th.at one point! I spoke to a Lenovo a couple of weeks ago they said it was on track to ship by 04/13… I just received an e-mail “Wed 4/5/06 11:50 AM your order has shipped”. So hopefully they’re doing better with the shipping times.

Gald to hear but am still looking for new of any 2007-94U units. I see several on eBay so "some" have been delivered for sure.

Charles, how did you order yours? I ordered mine on Feb 22nd, since then, my shipping date slipped innumerable times, right now it's 5/27/2006, I haven't received any of the things I bought along w/ the laptop, additionally, when I called TODAY, the guy on the phone said no one received their laptops AND that I wouldn't be getting mine until 2-3 weeks from now (which is WAY past the 8 week estimate I was given as MAX order time).

Overall, I am VERY disappointed with their lack of follow-through, especially as others are getting their laptops already, and I am still SOL. One curious thing, though, is that I ordered mine from EPP, I wonder if it had anything to do with this.

Anyone else still waiting?

ageyfman, I ordered EPP also. The rep was in Canada. I e-mailed him about my experience,...no reply. The have not credited my credit card for the additional charge as yet. I am a retired IBMer, retired in 1982 after 30 years. The company is certainly not the same, we had much more respect for the customer.

Charles, thanks for sharing your experience. I remember around 5 years ago when I got my first IBM, and it was different then too. But no matter. I am still on order for the IBM, but I also bought an Apple MacBook Pro. I don't realyl want to wait another 3 weeks, as I need a faster machine pretty much now.

Website has been incrementing ETS on a daily basis and is up to 5/11/06 as of this morning. Talked to Lenovo rep this afternoon. He said the extra GB of installed RAM can add approximately 4 days to delivery time. He was showing my 2623DDU with an estimated (guess-timated?) ship date on the third week of April.
I am supposed to receive an email early next week in response to my inquiry (the rep offered to escalate the matter). The email is supposed to provide a more definitive ship date and include a reason for the delay. I last spoke to Lenovo on 03/24. The delay at that time was attributed to a shortage of the ATI cards.
Any rep I have talked to so far has seemed surprised to learn that any 2623DDUs have shipped to date (like it is a secret that people have received units already). Maybe that is a standard "smoke screen" response to make us feel as if we are not alone? They are obviously unaware of the posts to this forum or perhaps they do not wish to acknowledge the "underground" information available amongst ThinkPad users. 8-)
I will post back, if and when I receive an email response from Lenovo.

G, same boat, except I ordered mine a half a month prior. It's BS, and they deny people getting them every single time I call. When I escalated the matter, no one called me back, hopefully you'll be luckier. Whatever...

i am seriously losing my patience with lenovo. i've never had an IBM, and i've only ever heard good things about them, but seriously! a laptop should not take over 5 weeks to ship, especially when people who have ordered weeks after have already received the exact same model. I know there are some of you that ordered long before me and i don't know how you all are still waiting in line.

With the introduction of the new bootcamp application from apple, a macbook is looking even more attractive. The only thing keeping me from cancelling the order is that i've waited so long already, i don't want it to be for nothing. Also the 30 day return period.

Trust me, the 30 day return period is a very cool feature. It gives you much time to honestly decide if you like, or not, the computer.

My Order Status

#176 Post by kd78 » Sun Apr 09, 2006 1:26 am

Ordered a 2623D7U on 4/5/06 and shipped on 4/7/06 and expected delivery of 4/10/06.

I guess I got lucky? I did the standard free ground shipping too but when I check UPS it says "express".

I ordered EPP so maybe they upgraded it for me? Not sure.

Ordered 2623D6U on 4/8/06 thru EPP.
At the time of order, the availabilty of this m/c was 1 week,
so I expected the est. shipping date was around ~4/15/06.
But the actual date was turned out to be May 5th (and even
one day shifted back, now May 6th) in the order status page.
I don't know when it will get arrived.
Frustrating so far.

In my case,
Ordered on 3/30/2006(Midnight)
Initially expected shipping date was 4/21
day by day slipped through 4/26
but suddenly received shipping notification on 4/07
Currently it cleared customs ,will deliver on 4/10 or 11.

I always received Thinkpads in sudden early shipment case(T43P,T42,X60s,T60).
I think you can expect early shipment than expected date in Lenovo web.
