@ Bill Cube, your delivery timing is weird, it seems your dealer is mocking you, I would cancel the order and try to buy directly to Lenovo...

it could be a seagate 7200.1 or 7200.2 or a hitachi 7K100 or 7K200. you won't know until it ships and there's no way to specify in your order.

Why it took so long? Don't ask me. I know I own part of the delay, but not all.
called twice in the middle of Oct, and they said it's OK.
Then on the end of Oct, the sales rep finally found out that they failed to send out build slip or something to the building storehouse( not their fault, but due to system failure?).
Then I changed a card since they tried to place a back order. And the credit department made it wrong.
then here comes the part that was clamed as my fault:
I could not make through the 800 to the credit department, for a week.
always the answering machine, and they don't call back.
I bothered several sales reps to inform the credit department( which I want to show gratitude to), but that did not work.
Finally, when I was talking to some sales rep of WSCA, he could not hear me clearly(might be an indian), he transformed me to his superior, who seemed to have the authority to fix anything, and it got fixed instantly.
That's about two weeks ago, so I guess this span is normal if you count it from early November.

Anyway, I guess I finally got my machine within a quater, that's not yet a record.
I live a busy life, so I don't have much time or energy to argue with lenovo , but I do have two suggestions:

1. set a phone between sale rep and credit department. this would solve a lot of trouble.

2. stop telling people to leave a message and wait for call back. Just "leave a message". That gives customers expectation and since you usually don't actually call back, that makes people don't trust you.

I guess I will stick to thinkpad for the price, but, really, the buying experience is horrible when you are the unlucky one.

Here in Switzerland, you have to go through a distributor to buy Lenovo products, there is no direct sell.

Based on the dist. estimates, estimated delivery : 12/12/2007 ... Because of the WUXGA screen as it seems.

Just got my T61p from Lenovo Taiwan 2 days ago. I saw newer T61p model in Japan (T7800, 200G/7200rpm, WUXGA) but they won't be in Taiwan till next year.

All T61p in Taiwan are the same, 15.4 WUXGA, T7700, 100G/7200rpm, 2G RAM, and Vista Business.

I have swapped the HD with Hitachi 7k200 200G and downgraded (or upgraded?) the OS to XPP.

i ordered my T61p on 10/09/2007 and when i looked at the estimated ship date it was 3/01/2008

so i called them and my battery and dvdrw was out of stock. i o stopped that order and placed a new order. well about 8 days later the first laptop showed up on my door step. so i had to cancel my new order. so i would say the shipping on these are great just learn to uhh. i lost my train of though.

By the way, the Lenovo site still shows Jan 10th as the shipping date. The IBM site had the updated/current information.

So how do you track progress of your order? I ordered a T61 from Lenovo Canada on 22 Dec, and received an e-mail indicating that the order is being processed but there's no link to an 'order tracker' . . . I've scoured the website, but couldn't find anything. Do they really want me to phone to check the progress?!

EDIT: OK, I broke down and called and was told the system will arrive 17 January . . .

Looks like American customers have priority, judging by esmail's 7 day delivery wonder!

i know. had i found an alternative with only the lcd and gfx i could have uppgraded over time.. but have not found anny other way.. stil save "a ton of money" over bying trough the normal sellers here in Norway.
