Surprisingly, mine got shipped this morning.
So weird but exciting.
Anticipating to get it soon.
jcan wrote:Ordered 2623D6U on 4/8/06 thru EPP.
At the time of order, the availabilty of this m/c was 1 week,
so I expected the est. shipping date was around ~4/15/06.
But the actual date was turned out to be May 5th (and even
one day shifted back, now May 6th) in the order status page.
I don't know when it will get arrived.
Frustrating so far.
2007-76U Shipped in 9 Days

Ordered on 4/3, shipped today (4/12). The scheduled ship date had been slipping one day at a time. The last date was 4/25. The saleman estimated it would ship on 4/24.
I'm getting exactly what I wanted.

i heard today from a friend who works at lenovo that the problem getting a lot of systems out is indeed the v5200 video card

I heard the same info from my Lenovo rep yesterday. The cards are coming in various quantities, as partial orders. Not enough to allow continuous assembly of the T60P models.

Ordered a 2007-4CU together with a multi DVD burner on 4/11, estimated delivery date is 5/2-5/9, too bad we don't have the online order status checking option here in Canada, I have to call in every several days to find out.

The online shipping estimates don't appear to make much sense. I ordered mine on 4/3 and it started out estimating 4/17. Each day it moved out one day. I called the saleman on 4/10 and he had no idea when it would ship. He did estimate 10 more working days which would have put it at 4/24. The next day it was bumped to 4/25 and then on the 12th, it was shipped.
I think if you order something pre-built (Express?), you'll get it pretty fast. I chose something from the tabook and was told that there was a long wait for it. If I had taken something with a 5,400 RPM disc instead of a 7,200 RPM disc, I was supposed to get it quicker. I stuck with my 2007-76U and it left Korea this morning .

Order status is showng 6/14/2006 for an estimated ship date as of today. Lenovo reps are not returning my phone calls the past few days. I was also supposed to receive an email earlier this week explaining why my order was delayed (never got it). Ordered a 2007-93U with an extra GB of IBM RAM from CDW on Thursday afternoon. Received the laptop and the memory (from CDW) this morning. Luckily, UXGA screen is pixel perfect and keyboard is NMB.

No noisy fans or buzzing power bricks. I realize I was taking a bit of a chance with CDW because of their return policy. However, I wonder how long Lenovo thought I was going to hold out with their incredibly slow delivery process (14 weeks evidently, ordered on 03/08 - esd of 06/14?). I started getting a bit worried when the communication stopped. I like the product, but they will alienate their customer base if they do not follow through with simple things like returning phone calls.

I've been getting annoyed with the waiting for my laptop to ship
Though according to a rep at Lenovo, they're expecting a new batch of ATI vid cards on this Friday, and my laptop is going to be part of the next batch built. So my order should ship some time early next week.
I ordered it on 3/3/2006, so this friday makes 7 weeks, so it will probably will have been 8 weeks from time of order before I get it.
Model: 2623DDU - apparently this particular model is VERY popular. And obviously ATI can't keep up with the demand for the FireGL 5200 vid. cards.
I even ordered the extra RAM *NOT* installed to speed up the time of delivery (I got the RAM and docking station back in march!).
PreZ
It really shouldn't take 8 weeks to get a laptop.

Hmmm, I ordered a custom T60p 2373EDU 2ghz, 256mb video, 80gb 5400rpm, 256mb ram, 1yr warranty for aprox $2150 with taxes on March 20th. Trying to keep costs way down, I figured I could upgrade the ram right away cheaper than IBM. I could live with the HD for awhile.. and would upgrade the warranty before my year was up. The shipping date got pushed out to about mid-june!!! So I decided to upgrade the memory in my T41p to 2gb and prepare to wait for a long time.
Then came the 200783U sale T60p with 3yr warranty, 256mb video, 2.1ghz, 100gb 7200rpm, 1.5gb ram for $2499 + tax = $2650.... $500 more.... but quite an upgrade and a good price. I couldn't help myself and ordered one.
I was planning to cancel the order with the ever sliding shipping date... but just got notice it shipped today instead of mid-june!
And now my 200783U order says ships within 3-6 weeks instead of 1 week. Now I am not sure if I should cancel the 200783U or not. Or maybe I should wait and compare the two for dead pixels and such...and send the one least liked back.
Those bad shipping dates sure do make life more complicated.
Ordered mine today...

I've joined the bandwagon on 4/21, too! I couldn't stand the z60m wait (bought 2, returned the first one cuz of dead pixels, the second one was taking forever to arrive). My ETA is also 5/18/06. It seems like it should arrive earlier because everyone's getting theirs super quick. Plus, I'm not getting the top of the line GPU.
Mine:
T60 2613EKU (custom built)
15", 128MB x1400 video
2.0Ghz
512MB RAM (upgrade myself)
Athero WiFi (it originally said 3-6 week ETA! I hope that's not the cause of the laptop delay)
6 cell battery
WinXP Home (cheaper! I'll upgrade it Pro)
100GB 5400RPM
DVDR (the status page reads: "CD-RW/DVD-R MULTI 4x".. it's only a -R??? I'll use my external 16x NEC then!)
3-year mail-in warranty

I ordered a 2007-63U through
www.euclidcomputers.com on 4/19. Expected arrival is 5/5. I'm expecting it earlier than this.
Then they have to send it to Australia...

My Thinkpad was ordered 4/14/2006. Expectected ship date is 5/9/2006.
This is a graduation present from my parents. My mom wanted to get me a MacBook, my dad wanted to get me a Thinkpad. Dad won.
My dad did not trust ordering a computer for me, so I Called Lenovo EDU number hoping for some student discount. I got a friendly and helpful sales rep named Jonathan. I told him I wanted the very best, top of the line Thinkpad T60p and money was no object as it was a gift from my parents.
He put me down for a 200794U T60p
The price was about what most everyone else is posting after calling up and trying to get less than MSRP.
Can't wait!

Jaybert, thanks for sharing, but you may want to remove the EPP price from your post.
Have a look at Rule #2 in the "Rules of the Road":
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=21343
Regarding the delivery times, have a look at the rest of the thread and you will probably find that *most* people are getting it delivered ahead of what the Lenovo website says.

hrm...according to the order status the laptop should be shipping tomorrow. Is it because I chose a TopSeller model and didnt customize it?
EDIT: just called up and they told me the ship date listed of 4/25/06 is incorrect, and it should be 3 weeks. we'll see though!

Ordered a T60p (200783C) from Lenovo China today... no estimated ship times... hopefully the ATI chip shortage will be over soon (although maybe I won't have to wait as long since that's where the machines are being manufactured!)

Status: Shipped on 04/26/2006 More info
guess they lied...my laptop shipped. Not bad for saying 3-6 weeks and having it shipped in 3 days (Ordered 4/23/06).
It even lists a serial # for the laptop, but the tracking number when I click on the link is incorrect, they only have "1Z" listed, which may be a filler until it actually gets shipped
2623D6U...no changes to the config at all.
