ARGH! I just came across the most weird problem... apparently China's export laws say that you aren't allowed to ship (as in post, courier, etc.) batteries out from China!? Therefore it means that either my friend sends me the TP without a battery, or he actually has to physically carry it out with him on a plane if he is travelling.
Dammit! So near, yet so far...

It's been 7 weeks for me and still no laptop. I've just recently been informed that my laptop order has been cancelled and I've been inserted back into the "waiting queue". I get to wait another 2-4 weeks!
I can't believe a company can operate like this. It's pathetic!

Guys, sorry to hear about all the delays. I don't want to make anybody jealous but, here's my data:

It would have arrived sooner but the 27th was a Saturday and the 29th a holiday.
My only observation from this is that it may be that not adding stuff or altering the original order may help. Everything I was going to order I placed on the original order. After that I think I may have emailed the sales rep about one item the day after the order but I didn't add anything else to the original order.
I'm traveling now and won't get to see the new machine until this time next week. So some of you may recieve yours after me but get to use it before. Best of luck!

I was actually hoping to get it as late as possible (mid June or later). I bought it for law school which I start in the fall.

I ordered a 2623DDU, except heavily modified: swapped out intel a/b/g and put in IBM a/b/g adapter; removed the Verizon integrated broadband adapter; added ultrabay battery; added extra AC adapter; added a 5 yr onsite warranty service.
It's called a 2613EMU (can't find it in the TAbook).
Ordered: May 30, 2006
Est. ship date: June 20, 2006
By the way, the sales rep said he goes to thinkpads.com regularly. He explained that the 2623DDU model in particular had experienced excessive shipping delays due to a parts shortage. He said the problems have been resolved and all T60/60p's are shipping regularly now. He told me my unit would probably ship before June 20.

It certainly appears that the supply issues have been resolved.

Astro, that chart is pretty awesome, by looking at the models are you saying that the 2326D7U average ship time is 8 days?
I finally made up my mind to go ahead and order one and yesterday was the big day, to my suprize lenovo was updating their web site yesterday
, so it took three sales people until after 5pm to get an email confirmation. Still won't be able to check the tracking progress until later today sometime.
First thing I'm going to do is load vista on it to see if it will run the full Aero, as there is much speculation here about that.

As the charts indicate, the delivery times have dropped dramatically over the last couple months. Here is the trend for the D7U:

Shipped 6/4 at 10 PM EDT
60 hours.
....not bad at all.
I am surprised the order commit date was so wrong. The initial date was longer than the 10 days on the web site, so I was a bit worried at first.
When I ordered the phone rep recommended that I not ask for the memory to be integrated as memory was the long-lead item. Right now my memory is scheduled for 6/23.
Update:
T60 arrived on 6/9 after getting hung up in customs for 2 days. Memory arrived one business day later. Mini Dock still has not shipped.
