I resolved the shipping issue pretty quickly through e-mail... it was supposed to be free and I'm being creditedccrazy88 wrote:Ordered a 2623DDU from Lenovo's "Student & Alumni" section w/ an extra 1gb of DDR2 and 3 year Thinkpad Protection on 7/30.
Estimated ship date: 8/17... I hope it ships either on or before that date because I leave for school on the 30th. Shipping also wasn't free, which I think it was supposed to be (?). I'm excited though, as it'll be my first laptop.

I ordered a t60p laptop on the 4th of this month. the accessory is expected to come the 8th. the laptop is expected to ship the 10th. the dock expected to ship the 18th. The arrival times are expected later of course. I did add extra memory. model number 2007-84u. We will see when it arives. This was purchased as one of ibm's specials on the epp program website online in the wee morning hours on the 4th(friday).
the shipping ended up taking 3 days per item after it was shipped. the camera shipped within days of the order. the pc was shipped 2 weeks after and the dock was to be shipped 3 weeks but it was rescheduled for 4 weeks i believe.
everything was recieved and working great

I ordered my T60 from tigerdirect, thinking that they have it in stock and it will be here in 2 days. boy was i wrong! it was "drop shipped" from Lenovo, so they failed to give me a tracking number. Tigerdirect told my father it should be here today or tomorrow. it figures that I needed it for summer session at school, and it will get here when its just about over! I have a feeling this is going to take a long time.
i have been reading about T60s for weeks now and I just want it NOW!
ThinkPad user and ThinkPads.com member since summer, 2006. That was a good summer.

I received my t60p at last. i posted a message before about my order and how my friend was going to get for for me to Lebanon.
he could not come here, unfortunetly, and i had to wait until it could be delivered to me, that was yesterday which is 30 days later than i originally expected. the important thing is that i got it finally.
first thing anyone can say when he sees it is :"WOW"
by the way, what i received is a T60p 2623D8U 2Ghz, 14" SXGA, 100 GB 7200rpm, FGL 5200, FPreader. Verizon card even though i don't think i will ever be able to use it in Lebanon. and guys this is the first Thinkpad i have and it is true that keyboard alone is worht the price you pay. i am currently trying to update the system and will be using it for a while, will post other messages when i have some things to say. Take care everybody.

I ordered my Thinkpad T60p 200793U from Euclidcomputers.com yesterday. It shipped roughly 90 minutes later and arrived this morning. It's built like a tank, the keyboard (an Alps) is lovely, quiet, but with decent tactile feedback (it's not my old clicky IBM PS2 keyboard, but for a laptop, it's heavenly), and the 15" UXGA flexview screen.. utterly gorgeous. Getting the wrist wrest back on after installing my second stick of RAM was tricksy, but I figured it out eventually. Now, I just have to get used to the trackpoint.

Finally broke down and ordered what should be my dream notebook on August 11th.
Thinkpad T60p (200793U), ordered from Synnex with the 4 year protection plan, ultrabay battery, additional 1gb ram and an ultrabay sata adapter and 2nd 100gb 7200rpm sata disk.
Free next day shipping from my buddy at Synnex - currently sitting in Madison now. I really want to break into FedEx and get my notebook - I'd even leave my signature for it!
Should arrive Monday, and I can't wait to see it in action.

I ordered my T60 from buy.com on 8/9, along with an extra 1GB RAM and the ultrabay battery, as well as a 2-year onsite contract. It is 2007-63U (14.1" SXGA+, 100G@5400, DVD+-RW).
Everything has been shipped. Estimated delivery dates via Fedex tracking are 8/14 for the RAM, 8/16 for the battery, and 8/18 for the T60 itself.
I'll post again when it has all arrived.

Why didnt you buy 20079EU? The only difference between these 2 is 20079EU has T2700 processor (2.33) while 200793U features T2600 (2.16). 20079EU is also US$ 230/- cheaper than 200793U (atleast on lenova store). Hope you know that 93U was announced in January and 9EU was anounced last month immediately after intel started shipping T2700.msteinhilber wrote:Just recieved my T60p, all I can say is WOW.

I went with the 200793U because it was available in stock overnight from me via ground service and because I was buying directly from a distributor I was able to pickup the 200793U for just a big under $2500 vs whatever I would have paid Lenovo for the other one.longfellow wrote:Why didnt you buy 20079EU? Everything arrived right on time. I installed the RAM and so far, all is well. With the battery in the bay, even though I didn't fully install it (it's showing 86%), it still says I have over 5 hours left. Just ordered a 20075TU from lenovo.
Lenovo ThinkPad T60 2007 - Core Duo T2500 2 GHz - 15" TFT 1400 x 1050 ( SXGA+ ) etc.
Estimated ship date: 09/04/06
I WAS charged shipping though, despite the site saying that shipping would be free. I couldn't find a way around it. I sent an e-mail to lenovo via the generic online form. Is there some good way I can get a hold of them to have the shipping cost quickly credited back?

Hi everyone.
After spilling Milk on my old thinkpad and recovering it back to pre-spill conditions. I just concluded ordering a 14" T60, 80gb (adequate for my needs), 512mb (might have to upgrade this), T2400 1.83. Although I am not sure if it is a 2007 or 2006. I frankly dont even know how to check that.
To say I am as excited as an expectant mother doesnt even begin to describe it. After 6yrs of Thinkpadding, It wasnt really a hard decision. Just wasnt sure if i should get the 'p' or not.
Will keep y'all updated.

I looked up my parts list and saw that the LCD/Display isn't mentioned at all. Did this occur for anyone else? I wanted to lookup which manufacturer I have.
