Have you ordered a T6x(p)?Shipping Posts.
I ordered a T60 on 11/17, and was given an estimated ship date of 12/19. According to my order status, however, it was just shipped today (12/05)
. So there may be hope for those of you who are eagerly awaiting the status of your thinkpad orders! For what its worth, this is my configuration (I was told that the memory was the bottleneck when I ordered it.)

maybe they out of XP home and 2G memory???
On the Lenovo Canada site, there's an option to "add accessory packages to your laptop, at time of ordering", and one of the packages included the Advanced Mini-Dock, keyboard, mouse, USB memory key, and an AC adapter for $149.00 Canadian - good deal! The 2623D6U itself lists at $1599.00. I also ordered the "Expander" carry bag for $79.00 - it is adequate, but not the quality of bag I was expecting for the price.ronan_zj wrote:Gee, you must have spent a lot of $$ on it.
good to hear that...

you you add extra graphic card and hard drive into ur dock?
This probably belongs in a different forum, but what I bought was an "advanced mini-dock" not the "advanced docking station". The mini-dock is a step up from the "essential" port replicator. The part number for the 'package' is 6OBI015. See it at http://caipsgws001.can.ibm.com/store/fa ... =hooptions
The main differences between the mini-dock and the essential, is that the mini-dock supports DVI & VGA, analog & digital audio (SPDIF), and comes with an AC adapter, as well as everything the essential dock does (VGA, phone, LAN, 4 x USB, PS/2, cable lock slot).
The advanced docking station is a much larger piece of hardware and has a PCI-Express slot, an Ultrabay slot (for DVD, hard drive, etc.), an integrated multi-card-reader, and 5 USB ports instead of four, in addition to everything the mini-dock has. Unlike the smaller docks this one's a bit too bulky to pack around, it is meant to stay put at one's home or office. This doesn't seem to be available on the Lenovo Canada site but I found specs here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-61232
Hope that helps!

Make sure your address is correct! I just checked with UPS that my address is missing the Apt #.
It's the 3rd time this happened to me. Am I lucky or not!
Fortunately I noticed this before UPS makes the delivery. Need to correct the address tomorrow morning to get my T60 without any extra delay.

sorry about confusing.SlimBear wrote: Is there supposed to be such a code? Where's it in the package?
I just double checked with online rep.
he told me I dont need anycode.
I just need
1.my COA number, machine type.
2. Download rebate form from Lenovo.
Basicly, they price will be $90. + shipping/handing
total: may over $100.
Follow these steps( I figure out by myself, not 100% garteen is right):
1. go to website: https://upgradeweb.moduslink.com/vista/ (reference from http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/microsoft/vista/upgrade.html)
2."Do you have a serialized Upgrade Redemption Form?" ( ans:NO)
3. click Windows VIsta pic link located on the bottom right.
4. following the instruction....

its good to hear that no dead pixel.SlimBear wrote: Just got mine!First thing was to check if there is any 'dead pixel'. It turned out to be fine! It's much quieter than my current T43. Will play with it after I get back tonight. Enjoy yours!
Even do , we can not nothing about it.
unless u want to pay 15% restock fee
Dead pixels are grounds for panel replacement in some cases.

On the order tracking website it said that the estimated shipping date was 12/22. However, I looked at it today and it says that it shipped today! I'm so excited! Is there anyway to see what parts the laptop shipped with? I looked at the FAQ and went to the lenovo support site mentioned, but it needs a serial number that is not on the order status site. I guess I can wait.

Greetings all.
I ordered a T60 on 11/13/06. Original ship date was 12/10. A week ago the ship date changed to 12/7/06. I'll post an update when I know more. My first Thinkpad, not sure what to expect.

waiting
Purchase date 11/13/06. Ship date was today. Today it changed to 1/9/07. Nearly 2 months after placing the order. In all fairness I did make a change to the configuration 6 days after the original order. But not to the RAM. And the rep said it would not be a problem. "Shouldn't delay your order."
I called and got a handful about how there is a worldwide shortage of RAM and it was beyond Lenovo's control. She said she would try to get me a better ship date but only "sometime around the end of December" was what I got. The rep was courteous.
I've never owned a Thinkpad before. Sounds like a good machine if you're lucky to get one without dead pixels, turns on/off like its supposed to etc etc. but I mean really, 1 -2 months before shipping? Isn't this a global corporation we're talking about?
I'm just wondering if I should forget the whole thing and go buy a <gulp> Toshiba or something. At the very least I imagine I could walk into Office Depot and walk out with a Thinkpad.

is it the RAM only that makes shipping so long? if so, wouldn't it make sense to just get a machine with 512 or so RAM, and buy and install the extra after? then at least you'd have a laptop to work with while you wait.
i ordered 2GB RAM via 2 1GB DIMMs
ordered machine Dec. 1st
estimated ship date Dec. 25th
and now i'm going to miami for 9 days without a laptop because thinkpad is that slow to purchase, you have to really know why you want one to get one. if macbook pro's had the flexview, how many sales would thinkpad lose?

Hey guys. I got my T60 last night! I ordered it on 11/18, it said it was estimated to ship on 12/22, but it shipped on 12/6 and I got it on 12/7. I haven't really had a chance to play with it yet (only about an hour) because it is the end of the semester so everything is all hectic. But from the little bit of "playing" I did, it looks awesome.
I do have a question though, I ordered a 3 year warentee with the machine, but when I check the warentee on the website, it only says 1 year limited warentee. Do I need to register it somewhere? If so, where?
Also, I set up the finger print reader and it works great, but is there any way just to use the finger print reader and not have to also put in a password to login? I mean, if I have to put in a password anyways, why use the fingerprint reader? Is it just a setting that I haven't found yet?
One last question, where do I go to create the recovery dvds that people here recommend making when you first get the machine?
Sorry for all the questions, just it is my first "new" thinkpad (I have an old 600x).
