darrenf - great find! The pics are definitely the best I have seen.
I had no idea the T60 was so different, especially the cooling system.
That could be
great news...

I would also really like to know where the graphics processor is going to go and how it is going to be cooled, this looks like an Intel 950 model.

I would also like to know if the 14.1" verison of the T60 is the one that HAS a fan air intake in the bottom. Ive been bashing about this in an earlier thread as beeing the biggest drawback in the T60 design, but later was told by others that there were no holes in the bottom on the pre production models beeing out. So what is it? Is the 14.1" infected of a fan air intake in the bottom or not?

Doesn't it look in those photos like the CPU is connected through a socket. So would that make it upgradeable?

The photos sure seem to suggest that the air intake is on the bottom. Most disturbingly, the fan appears to be gasketed on one side where it contacts the base of the case to *prevent* air from being drawn in from other parts of the case. It seems like this would lead to higher heat buildup as compared with the current design.

secondly, T60's 14.1 LCD is brighter than T43's.
What is your source of information on this? As far as I can tell, Lenovo is using the SAME lcd panel suppliers that it uses for the T43, with the addition of a TMD supplied 14" SXGA+ panel.
The first Korean review talks about more brighter and better 14.1SXGA LCD in T60 than that in T43 and shows comparing pictures. However, it doesn't wirte any specs or tech infos. But I can see the difference in those pictures.

I was just told my my Lenovo rep that the new advanced dock for the T60 only supports 1600 x 1200 via the DVI port. That means I can't drive my HP L2335 23" LCD (1920 x 1200).
If this is true, it really, really blows. I'll have to cancel my entire order.

if u use the ati omega drivers then u can use a lot higher resolutions. Look here

dont be hasty to cancel your order. and the omega drivers are really cool and stable. i ran them exclusively with my t43.

and did you try those drivers on a 1920x1200 screen through DVI?

it happens beacuase most cameras have an IR filter on the sensor which blocks out IR light from normal daylight. It cannot block the IR from the IR port of the laptop.
YMMV

You can drive 1920*1200 through DVI with a crappy mobility radeon 7500. I'm sure you will find a way with you T60 to drive that 23" display...look it up on the T4x forums.
People, stop listening to a bunch of support guys that tell you only what they can read from a sheet...this doesn't help anyone.

i found a pic of the T60 board with discrete graphics

heres the cooling solution for it...
http://image2.sina.com.cn/IT/cr/2006/03 ... 927182.jpg
and heres the review where i got this
http://tech.sina.com.cn/n/2006-03-06/1344858722.shtml
if you check out the pictures, their model does not have the cooling vents on the bottom

its seems that the 15" model has no vents, and that the 14.1" has.
Size is just the same...

T60 has just the same thickness with T40s. The only difference is that T60 does not have the edge-cut design, which T40s have. The edge-cut design makes T40 "seems" slimmer than T60.

Usually just cheaper CMOS cameras like those found in cellphones (not CCDs), which coincidentally dont have IR filters. Try shining your TV remote into your cell phones camera and see what I mean.
