(OK, I am replying to you, so your trolling has succeeded)
Here is my advice to you...
Perhaps if you used less offensive language, your opinions would be more likely listened to. I, for one, would rather not read the word "turds" to describe a new notebook design, let alone think of that word. It is nasty, offensive, and bothersome.
I have been a participant in these forums for a good while now, and I do not trumpet everything that IBM/Lenovo has done as being perfect.
A little dignity can go a long way.

I ran the exact same test. I went to Office Depot and typed on a T43, and then on a Z60t sitting right next to it. I got the opposite results. The T43's keyboard was msuhy garbage compared to my T40 in terms of feedback, while the Z60t's keyboard felt exactly like my T40's keyboard - perfectly solid.
I don't see how it is possible to compare ThinkPad keyboards without knowing the actual manufacturer. considering that Lenovo uses NMB, Chicony, and ALPS keyboards in the majority of its models, the chances of doing an apples-to-apples comparison of two randomly chosen ThinkPads is very slim.

Very very correct. Did mr. moderator check the manufacturer of the keyboard at OD? If not then his argument is weak.

That argument goes both ways. Smilodon did the exact same test as I did on a T43 and a Z60, and concluded based on ONE comparison that Lenovo was "trashing" the quality of ThinkPads. Smilodon can thus not claim to have a stronger argument than me. Hope that clears things up. - K. Eng

Vulgar language and pictures and personal attacks are not allowed in the forums. If you cannot conduct a discussion with some decorum, then don't join in. I suspect that many of you need to review the Rules of the Road found in the "READ ME FIRST FAQ then post" section. You'll find it right at the top of the forum list on the main page.

boys boys boys..
moderators rule and they do NOT rule with a heavy or unreasonable hand..

we all want this to be a courteous place to visit..

no one will delete a thread unless it decends into cursing or violates the rules..

IRT: keyboard comparisons at office depot..
it might be more scientific if the serial number were run against the build parts list to learn WHICH keyboard is used and then relate that info to the feel of the keyboard..

with the lenovo takeover we all are worried that the quality will go down..
if it does, no one will delete your thread if you tell it like it is..
but lets get a concensus of opinion, first, before the shout goes out that the thinkpad line is dead..

so far, apparently, the Z series seems to be a compromise of some sort..
i guess i'll need to go to office depot and take a look at one..

meanwhile, please keep the discourse civil.. :)
