After I placed my order for the T60 I was getting concerned about the issues reported in various reports. Fan noise, stiff keyboard, boxy look, cheap buttons etc. My T42 and the T43 that followed were really great machines with no problems. Well, I'm greatly relieved to share with you that after 4 hours of rather intensive computing with a wide variety of apps, this is by far the best ThinkPad I've had. Fit & finnish are perfect, in person the new mouse buttons and touch pad are elegant. The keyboard is wonderful, the display is very bright and evenly lit. After 2 hours the fan came on for a period of time and it was just barely noticeable. In the photos it looked boxy to me, but the lower front edge is tapered just like the T4x series. I have a small scale and I compared the T43 & T60 both with 15" displays and there was only 7 oz difference, and it was the T60 that was lighter! My machine was delayed in customs for a day or so, and Lenovo still beat the original delivery estimate of 3/29. Any questions?
Order date?

When did you originally place the order? Express or standard website or company PO?

Called the order in on 2/20. Requested Overnight shipping, but the rep said they were all being shipped ground and if I changed it, my order could be delayed substantially.
I was given an estimated delivery date of 3/29. For the first 10 days, it said 3/14, then one day it changed to 3/28 where is stayed for a few days. Next day it said 3/4 then the shipping date dropped off completely. I called and there was no info, then the very next day the status changed to shipped.
Once the computer was actually shipped I noticed that they had upgraded it (without charging me) to Express. From Hong Kong to my door in 2 business days, shipped on Friday and arrived on Monday (today).

they always use Express shipping since Hong Kong isn't connected to the USA, and a boat would take way too long.

Yes, that certainly makes sense. Thanks for the info.
