Agreed, it's not an appropriate parallel, and it is lame. I think it is just that I've exhausted my quota of the "eagerly-checking, getting disappointed each time I stare at the status page, venting-in-fora" thing. I've gone through so much of that, I've probably just cracked.

Ah.

I had gone into a Zen state about waiting, but then when all these people who ordered after me started getting their T60s, a whole new reserve of venting lifted up out of me.

My condolences for the moment of MacBook grief.

Wow that sounds perfectly designed to drive people up the wall. It's really pushing customer service to a whole new sadistic limit.
