T60P Bluetooth

#1 Post by abisys » Tue Mar 21, 2006 8:17 am

I got my 200793U yesterday. Everything works fine, except bluetooth.
I heard loud fan noise, when burning recovery DVD.
Is anybody facing the bluetooth problem. WindowsXp reports that 'No Bluetooth device found'.

Have you turned it on using Fn&F5 key combination? also make sure the wireless switch on the front is green and check under Config in the BIOS that it is enabled

I had this problem when I first received my T43P. I believe the default setting is disabled.

Check Fn F5

Thanks for the replies. It's working now. As im very new to Thinkpads, it's taking some time to learn these.

I've been lurking here for over a year and absorbed a great deal of knowledge. Finally received my own 200794U last Thursday and have been trying to get it set up ever since. Had the same problem with bluetooth as noted here and spent hours on it until I read this post. This must be the only place in the world where this simple bit of knowledge is documented. Thanks movado and snife for your help.

Snife makes a good point here. 90% of the bluetooth issues that are called in to support can be resolved by turning on the radio via FN+F5 Key. Most of the others result in a driver uninstall / update reinstall from our website.

For future reference if the FN F5 doesn't work on the t60 please update the driver / reinstall.
