T60p in graphic intense apps.
T60p in graphic intense apps.
Hi,
A few days ago I received my T60p. (never had thinkpads before)
My question is for all of you who are using Thinkpads in graphic intense applications. Is it normal to have a slight pulse sound when the complex 3d model is rotated. Just when I stop rotation, the sound disappears.
Thanks

Re: T60p in graphic intense apps.
That's a really interesting issue. It would seem to indicate to me that (perhaps) something is not shielded completely enough between the graphics system and the sound system.victor wrote:Hi,

I've got ACad04 and will give it a shot this weekend (assuming I get my T60p tomorrow as scheduled).

I do not know what causes this sound, but it is not a Thinkpad specific issue.
Many computers generate such sounds when you manipulate large amounts of polygons in 3D apps. My own does and it is not a notebook. There used to be an extensive thread about this problem on cgtalk.com. There's no real solution to this problem. Turning off speakers may help though.
