Seagate SATA drives are quieter than Hitachi SATA drives?

I've always had a Seagate hd for my desktop. They were always the quietest. I wonder if the same applies to the notebook versions. This came up only because I was comparing some of the MBP drives. It seems the Seagate equipped MBP have slightly better performance. Anyone willing to do a swap?

I have a 80Gb Seagate drive in my old VAIO which is significantly quieter than the Hitachi it replaced. It also seems quieter than the Hitachi in my T60. I'm probably going to replace my T60 drive with a Seagate also.

I found it interesting that Lenovo FRU parts list inlcudes a Seagate 100GB Sata 7200rpm drive listed as "TBD". Looks like they'll be shipping these with Seagate drives some time...

I've always loved the Hitachi drives (formerly IBM DeskStar & TravelStar) but may have to swap it out, too...

The Seagates have always been more quiet and do have a better warranty. 8)

My Hitachi drive is much noisier than the Fujitsu drive it replaced.
My guess is that the Seagate drive is less noisy, based on reading feedback and reviews, comparing it to my Hitachi.
