2623-D3U -- Any reason NOT to?

#1 Post by brooklynboy » Thu Mar 30, 2006 1:11 am

A friend is about to buy a 2623-D3U, which looks to be a fine machine--even for WinVista. The only downside is the 5400RPM disk, which he's willing to accept because of the availability and the price.

2.0GHz Core Duo
1GB
100GB, 5400 RPM
15" 1400x1050 IPS
Radeon X1400, 128MB
Intel 3945ABG, Bluetooth, EVDO
9-cell battery

He's not doing gaming or CAD/CAM. Any reason not to buy?

looks like some foks are having issue with the Intel 3945 after updating the drivers, but I'm sure this will get fixed:

As near as I can determine, based on ordering 2 T60s in the last month, the 100gb, 7200rpm drives are readily available. One laptop was shipped 2 days after ordering, the other, 3 days. These were 14" screens though.

I didn't see any 100GB/7200RPM systems on the Lenovo web site as of last night.

Thanks for the wifi warning. I won't let him run any update until I see this resolved.
