I am worried about Lenovo quality now, is this justified?

While the participants at notebookreview may know there stuff, I doubt that you will find a more rabid group of thinkpad diehards, evangelists and dissectors than at thinkpads.com. If you want the scoop on Thinkpads, from people that have used them for over a decade, you come here.

Kashton, I just took my T60 apart to install another stick of RAM and was blown away. I can't believe how well built the internals of the T60 are.

I dare anyone to find a better built laptop. IMHO, the T60 is much more rugged than the T43 (Note to Chris Wolf - I didn't say the T43 was bad, OK brah?)

Mandrake - Mine is a 15" Flexview/T2400/60GB,7200rpm HD/ 1GB RAM T60.

The electric-cooled pony harness was added afterwards.

Kashton , here are the answers to your questions:

1) I ordered my T60 with the standard configuration of 1GB memory so as not to delay the shipping, as my rep said that if I wanted it upgraded there most likely would be a delay.
2) I ordered a 1GB memory module (Crucial Brand), same specs as the ram in the computer. Yes they need to be the same.
3) Removing the palm rest and installing the additional 1 GB was easy. With 2 gigs it’s perfect, and a noticeable speed difference which was greater than anticipated!
4) I always order the Thinkpad model that includes the 3 yr warranty.
5) The configuration I ordered is 2007-73U
6) As of this writing I have a lot of time on the T60 and it has been flawless, and fast. I could not be happier.
