Yep, got scared. I got my T60 (2623-d6u) mid last week, fired it up and all went well.

I started doing the typical things of tuning it up, stopping unneeded services, uninstalling the junk, etc.... Well, on a reboot, right after post, i BSOD'd and it restarted and said it couldnt find any bootable device, no HD or CDrom. I restarted again, same thing.

CRAP!!!

Well, i tried it again and started tapping the crap out of the restore and it went in and i could fully restore it to factory setup. Its been running great every since. I must have wacked something nasty there.

Quick review.

--Build quality is great, feels sturdy as hell.

--Screen is very nice, bright and crisp, pretty much as expected.

--Performance is lagging due to lack of memory, got another gig on the way already.

--Keyboard blows dog. Very clackity. No flex in it and keystroke is fine, but i hate the cheap plastic noise.

--Wireless reception is so so, definately weaker than the Atheros chip in my T42.

--DVD burner works very nice, no probs there.

--Speakers are still weak, kinda was hoping for a bit more sound. Same as all the other T series.

--Asprin looking buttons do look a bit cheezy, but they dont feel cheap at least.

--The screen is nice and tight on the hinges, nice bonus.

--One extra USB port was nice.

--Battery is 10Wh stronger than a T4x series, so thats nice. Plus the power management software is lots nicer.

--Thinklight is better focused.

--I like the smaller trackpad, im a stick guy so its less in the way now.

--WAY more crap installed than before. I will be watching this for Chineese conspiracy spyware for quite a while.

--Bluetooth light is green like the others, blue would have been a nice touch.

--Power adapter is a 90w unit vs the old 72w.

--Windows button is small, so i could care less its there.

Oh well, thats enough for now. :)

Of course, it has to be asked... What kind of keyboard is it?

Hey, thanks for the info. I was also curious as to how to determine which keyboard I had on my T21 and T23s. All three are NMB, versus ALPS.

Yep, picked up each of them. I believe I was even able to get it to detect my 600Es too, but I don't remember with any clarity.

The dell's (DX10) come with the BT as "blue", I work a lot in "dim" light to no light environment and that "neon-blue" stands out like a sore thumb; I think IBM/Lenovo went green for a reason!!! Some of their reasoning with other things I do not agree with..but this one, I DO!

I actually thought it was a Bluetooth requirement to have the indicator light in blue, kind of a trademark thingy. At least this is the first device i have seen that that it isnt.
