Hi All! I am a first time visitor to this forum and must say, am impressed with the in-depth info available.

I have been an IBM loyalist for over 10 years, and have moved up from the inital ones to 770, T20, T21, T23, T33, T41, and now to the T60p. Always an excellent experience.

I have just decided to go in for the 2007-82U (I really have no nead for a 15" screen or a DVD/RW).

While waiting for it, I am seeking inputs and info on how to go about applying updates. I understand the system comes pre-installed with WXP-SP2. Should it be the Windows updates first, or should it be the IBM software updates first? Within these, should there be any sequence too, to be considered?

Thanks for idneas, expereinces and inputs!

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forums :)

There is no particular update sequence per se; I would, however, look at the upgrades you want/need through the ThinkVantage Software Installer first....This will give you a rough idea of how your system will end up being configured.

After that, you can get any Windows updates that you so choose.

HTH :)
