I did not receive any Windows XP Pro media disks with my T60P. Am I missing something here? This is my first laptop, however, I've always recieved OS disks of some sort when buying desktops.

It seems odd, but no, you don't get recovery discs.
You can make recovery discs (worth one CD and one DVD, or numerous CDs) using the tools they provide. How they use the few cents they save on doing this, I do not know.

Thanks, I did build a recovery disk.
I know in the past, there have been numerous times during installs and upgrades when I'm prompted to "put your original Windows installation disk" in the CD drive. If this happens on the T60 (maybe it doesn't happen anymore), do I use the recovery disk?
Also, there were lots of uninstalled features and drivers on the Windows Media disk that you could optionally install. Is everything either now pre-installed or available at Microsoft.com?
Thanks!

That won't happen, the necessary files are stored (occuping a few more gigs) in your hard drive.
What will begin to annoy you is not how little is installed, but how much is installed. If they give you a clean Windows disc, rebuilding will be easy. Now it's a non-trivial process, with many threads on this forum dedicated just to a simple task: Clean install of an operating system.
I have no idea what the rationale behind such a scheme is. Even Dell (yes, I said it) is nicer than this.

Even if you made the CD's, either (1) try them on a spare hard drive to ensure they work, or (2) purchase a set anyway from IBM. If there is a problem down the road, and if you have their CD's, they will endeavour to assist (voice of experience). ... JD Hurst

Wow what an ordeal! I just got through ordering the recover CD from IBM. It took about 30 minutes minutes.
First I called sales, they gave me the number for tech support. Tech support took all my info and then finally asked my why I called, they then told me I had to talk to "Gold" support because I had a T60. After being on hold I talked to Gold support and they told me I had to talk to the Billing department. After talking to the billing department to give them my credit card. I was transfered back to Gold support who then took my order. Jeeez
Times I was asked why I wanted to buy the disks: 3 or 4
Time on hold, about 20 minutes
Times I was asked for my name, address & contact info: 2
Cost: $50.28 OUCH

Hello? IBM/Lenovo tech support? I just tried to use the application on my brand new T60 to make the recovery media as stated in Thinkvantage and it doesn't work!
What? You're gong to send me a set of recovery CDs? FREE!?!?!
Wow! Bye.
Time spent, ~5 minutes. Cost, nil.
