HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
*GASP*
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH
WHY in the WORLD do you want to run WINDOWS ME?!? That was the single most horrible OS MS ever released!
further, every 9x OS does not support more than one processor at all, they are not coded for SMP. they also have problems with more than 512MB of ram... the chipset isnt supported on any 9x OS, itll have a problem with SATA, ATI hasnt supported 9x for years.... 9x is dead.

well... in that case, i dont think the drivers are out for that... wouldnt exactly be the highest thing on hte priority list, the v5200 is a workstatoin graphics chip, i doubt anyone is going to be putting it in a laptop with MCE

And even that argument doesn't hold water. I tried contacting them (ATI and Lenovo) and said, my T60p is a workstation class machine, I want to run a workstation class OS (GNU/Linux) for serious computing. Where are my video drivers?lithium726 wrote:well... in that case, i dont think the drivers are out for that... wouldnt exactly be the highest thing on hte priority list, the v5200 is a workstatoin graphics chip, i doubt anyone is going to be putting it in a laptop with MCE
They did not listen.
Happily picks up his three grand; unhappily hands it over to another company.

the market for linux drivers is not large enough to rush them out the door. the market for windows drivers is. MCE is an entertainment OS, pro is a workstation OS. simple as that.pundit wrote:And even that argument doesn't hold water. this is very possible, but not garanteed.I am pretty sure you can run the standard ATI Catalyst driver set with the v5200. This would work under MCE
