SXGA+ in 1024x768 vs regular XGA in 1024x768

Will the T60 with SXGA+ screen in 1024x768 look better than the same resolution on the XGA screen?
What are advantages of the SXGA+ screen aside from a higher max resolution? Improved viewing angles? Brighter and more colorful screen?
Both of those T60's will have an ATI x1300 64mb video card by the way.

In general, XGA will probably look like rubbish on the SXGA+ screen, though it depends on how the dithering is done.
If you are not going to go any higher than XGA, then stay with the screen that was made for it, or it will be a waste, it will give you no advantage (in terms of resolution) whatsoever.
As for brightness, angles, etc. I think they are pretty much the same as the XGA.

Always go with the screen size that first fits your eyes and then your budget. Some people do have problems even with 14.1 sxga screens.
I've seen some real hack jobs with people buying WUXGA screens, because they want the best and can get it. Then hacking at the font and icon sizes, ending up with a real horror on the screen and not being happy with their new laptops.

Got my T60 already and opted for the 14" XGA version. While I really like the extra screen space and sharper images in the SXGA+, I'm afraid my eyes (I'm already wearing 125/100 glasses) might get worse if I go for it. Besides, thats why I have an external monitor if I need more spreen space.
On a 15" screen, SXGA looks better but I don't want the extra bulk when carrying the laptop.
I hope I made the right decision as I'm coming from a 1280x768 widescreen (HP DV1000 & Brightview) so I will need to get used to my T60's size and matt display.

There is one good reason to get an SXGA+ screen even though you plan to run it at XGA and that's to game. The best video card available with an XGA screen is the x1300 w/ 64M. The x1400 and V5200 are only available on the SXGA+ and UXGA screens.
