Let me begin by saying that I just received my T60.

Before that I had a Toshiba laptop that worked great
with my home wireless network. I have 2 WIRED desktops
to a WIRELESS router that is shared by up to 3 laptops.

The T60 for some reason does not play nice with my network.

It finds the wireless connection within my home, but once
I connect to it, it knocks all my other computers (wired and
wireless) off-line. I have to go reset my router in order to
get my WIRED desktop working.

I called LINKSYS support. Downloaded the newest firmware
for my router. Still had problems with the T60 cancelling out
the other Internet connections.

I then called LENOVO. They really could not help much since
it was not a hardware related issue. They did suggest I look
at my router DHCP settings and even check to see if Internet
Sharing was turned on.

I really don't see such settings in my LINKSYS router setup
page (191.168.1.1).

Anyone have any suggestions as to what may be going on?
This seems to be an issue related to the T60 as the other
laptops never cancelled each other or the desktop Internet
connection out.

Shot in the dark - is your DHCP server set up to hand out enough addresses for all the devices (wired + wireless) connected to it?

As a first step, can every device connect simulatneously if all are wired?

I don't know.

I can do a basic setup with the router webpage
but have no idea where to find or how to adjust
the DHC settings as to amount of connections allowed.

perhaps someone familiar with the Linksys router
settings can assist me on this.

Thanks for the *friendly* advice.

I'm not looking for an education.

Something is wrong with the wireless connection
on this Lenovo unit.

I have two other laptops hooked wirelessly no problems.

I turn on the Lenovo, it doesn't connect or can't hold
a connection for more than 2 minutes. Many times it
knocks the other computers off the network.

The router settings indicate I have 200+ permissions
for added connections. That information was easy to find.

My question is whether anyone else has been experiencing
this problem.

Well, I have had problems like that on quite a few laptops I have had....including my T43.

It all came down to an issue with the router setup; even though another wireless system may work fine with it, the router would get stricter signals from certain card+driver+software combos and would renew all the leases in the process of assigning an IP to my system.

Don't know what model your Linksys is, but on my Motorola and Linksys setup...I never get dropped or have had multiple systems get dropped. Heck, I usually connect 3+ systems wirelessly at the same time to it.

I agree with chris. One thing you can do is go to linksys's site and update the firmware for your router. Its a simple process, download the .bin, go to firmware update in the router config, browse to that file and it will do the rest. It may be a know issue and is fixed.
Im working on the assumption that if your not familiar with routers, you probably dont keep it updated.

What is the model number to the linksys router? Like serpico said, make sure that your DHCP range has an adequate number of addresses to give out. You can check that in the router itself. Also, have you tried resetting the router and reconfiguring it from scratch? Give that a try but make sure you write down all of your settings before continuing.

I have the Linksys WRT54GX4

Linksys just sent me a new one.

Same problems.

Lenovo thinks the network card inside my T60 may
have an electrical short circuit since it is knocking other
computers off my wireless network.

Lenovo is sending mde a new notebook. We will see
if that solves the problem.
