I did get my refund last week, but as the sales rep told me, it took 12 business days. But it did come minus the shipping ($20).

I also did an exchange for a t60 and got the new system in exactly 3 weeks after shipping the original unit (no shipping charged here)

Here's how my saga has apparently turned out. A timeline:
  • I received my RMA# and shipping labels on the 5th of this month.
  • I shipped my computer and additional battery off on the 5th.
  • According to UPS tracking information, it was receved on the 6th.
  • The amount for my computer was refunded (allegedly?) on the 11th.
  • The amount for the battery was refunded on the 12th.
So, if all had gone as planned, I should have had my money back within a week of shipping off the machine. Pretty slick.

Except, while Lenovo claims they've credited back the entire amount, it doesn't show up in my account. Hence came the next steps which involved asking them for invoices, dates, numbers (you know, details) and faxing these to my bank to have them duke it out.

I'm too tired to jump into the activities; but sit pretty eagerly awaiting the outcome, learning to accept that 3 grand can be lost "to the ether" if someone typoed somewhere.

Weee!

And for those curious, the return invoice is almost "cute." It goes something like the following:

Item.............Price........Qty Ordered....Amount Charged...
_______________________________________________
Computer......$nnnn............ -1 ............... -$nnnn .........

Yes, friendly negative numbers running all amuck.

this is most likely a problem with your credit card. Mine was refunded within 7 business days.
