I prefer LG-Phillips, but they are all good.

One thing to consider is that there are different sizes (13.3, 14.1, etc.) and types (XGA, SXGA, etc.) are different.

I have all three brands on my different ThinkPad's. The one I prefer is the LG-Phillips, it seems to have the best color balance. In addition on my T60 the flexview LG is really awesome. A very wide viewing angle.

Are the LG Philips also build in the T60's or are there just Samsung and Hydis so far?

My T60 does have the LG Philips and it's the best of any I have had or have seen in others ThinkPads. I'm really happy that "by the luck of the draw" I got one.

Is it the TMD screen?
Can you post the FRU number of your screen?

Well, it's a 15" Flexview. I thought this thread was about comparing 14" displays. Then again, I double-checked, and the T60 does not list any LG panels at 14". And archer, you didn't get yours by "luck of draw". The LG panel is the only one Lenovo uses for 15" SXGA+ displays on the T60.

Yes it's a 15" Flexview as stated in my signature. The title of this thread does not specify a screen size, it's entitled "Is LG-Phillips a good LCD panel?" By luck of the draw I was referring to not having any dead pixles or the horizontal line that others are reporting here.

Oh, then you are right. I have 4 dead pixels on mine.

Yes, that's a real disappointment to have dead pixels. As I have had that issue in the past, I know first hand the frustration.

Here's an update since my last post (and I MUST find the humor in this) I now have 1 or 2 dead pixels that just developed, right in the middle of the display! Perhaps I jinxed myself reporting no dead pixles (at the time).

No, not really. Only one of them is noticeable in normal conditions, and only on white background, and only occasionally. Plus it's dark and really small (SXGA+ IPS). It's at all not bothersome. But on some displays it may be annoying.

I found a solution that worked perfectly for me. Take a clean soft terrycloth towel. Dampen one corner with water. Massage the area of the display (for about 5 minutes or so) where the stuck pixel is, apply a fair amount of pressure carefully.
You will not notice any change in the pixel until you have stopped massaging. Wait while using the computer for some time and eventually the pixel will respond. If not, repeat the procedure.
If that does not work shut down the computer. Do the massage procedure while booting up. This should do it.
I fixed 6 stuck pixels is 2 different areas of my display and it was like magic. If I had not seen if for myself I would not belive it.

Please let me know if this works for you.
Good Luck
Archer

(Stuck pixels are white or another color. Dead pixels are black and cannot be fixed.)

I don't believe it would work, but I will try it later and update you.

I must admit that I was a doubting Thomas myself :)

If someone plans to extend this to darkened screen corners, I'm all ears.

I have my keyboard replaced. Will the detection tool at the belowmentioned url detect the model of the new keyboard or will it still show the model of my old keyboard based on my serial number?

Thanks.

That's a great question, I do not know. If you have the box that the new keyboard came in, look for the FRU number and you should be able to identify it on the Lenovo site. If not provide me with the number & I will identify it for you. Also provide me with the Model/Type/Serial number of your ThinkPad

I no longer have the box but the FRU number before and after the replacement is the same ( as detected by lenovo) and hence my question on whether the detection is based on individual part ID or serial number of laptop. The service center did mention to me NMB keyboard is not available (my original keyboard is a NMB).

Darkened screen corners would not be due to dead pixels. It would be normally due to illumination (backlighting) irregularity/imperfection. Not much that you can do about that.
