My T60 does have the LG Philips and it's the best of any I have had or have seen in others ThinkPads. I'm really happy that "by the luck of the draw" I got one.Ponch wrote:Are the LG Philips also build in the T60's or are there just Samsung and Hydis so far?
Is it the TMD screen?archer6 wrote:My T60 does have the LG Philips and it's the best of any I have had or have seen in others ThinkPads. I'm really happy that "by the luck of the draw" I got one.Ponch wrote:Are the LG Philips also build in the T60's or are there just Samsung and Hydis so far?
Well, it's a 15" Flexview. I thought this thread was about comparing 14" displays. Then again, I double-checked, and the T60 does not list any LG panels at 14". And archer, you didn't get yours by "luck of draw". The LG panel is the only one Lenovo uses for 15" SXGA+ displays on the T60.archer6 wrote:Ponch, here is the info you requested-
LG-Phillips FRU 13N7078
15.0" (381.0mm) SXGA+ (1400x1050) TFT color / 200 nits / anti-glare
FlexView display with wide viewing angle and high density using IPS technology
Yes it's a 15" Flexview as stated in my signature. The title of this thread does not specify a screen size, it's entitled "Is LG-Phillips a good LCD panel?" By luck of the draw I was referring to not having any dead pixles or the horizontal line that others are reporting here.dr_st wrote:

Yes, that's a real disappointment to have dead pixels. As I have had that issue in the past, I know first hand the frustration.dr_st wrote:Oh, then you are right. I have 4 dead pixels on mine.
No, not really. Only one of them is noticeable in normal conditions, and only on white background, and only occasionally. Plus it's dark and really small (SXGA+ IPS). It's at all not bothersome. But on some displays it may be annoying.archer6 wrote:Yes, that's a real disappointment to have dead pixels. As I have had that issue in the past, I know first hand the frustration.
I found a solution that worked perfectly for me. Take a clean soft terrycloth towel. Dampen one corner with water. Massage the area of the display (for about 5 minutes or so) where the stuck pixel is, apply a fair amount of pressure carefully.dr_st wrote:Only one of them is noticeable in normal conditions, and only on white background, and only occasionally. I must admit that I was a doubting Thomas myselfdr_st wrote:I don't believe it would work, but I will try it later and update you.
If someone plans to extend this to darkened screen corners, I'm all ears.archer6 wrote:I found a solution that worked perfectly for me. Take a clean soft terrycloth towel. You will not notice any change in the pixel until you have stopped massaging. Wait while using the computer for some time and eventually the pixel will respond. If not, repeat the procedure.
If that does not work shut down the computer. Do the massage procedure while booting up. This should do it.
I fixed 6 stuck pixels is 2 different areas of my display and it was like magic. If I had not seen if for myself I would not belive it.
I was all ears before thispundit wrote:If someone plans to extend this to darkened screen corners, I'm all ears.

Click on Detect & Continue and you are there.
Hope this helps
That's a great question, I do not know. If you have the box that the new keyboard came in, look for the FRU number and you should be able to identify it on the Lenovo site. If not provide me with the number & I will identify it for you. Also provide me with the Model/Type/Serial number of your ThinkPadakhran wrote:I have my keyboard replaced. Will the detection tool at the belowmentioned url detect the model of the new keyboard or will it still show the model of my old keyboard based on my serial number?
