ThinkPad T60 LCD - warranty info

I'm looking to buy a T60 from a third party vendor, because of the pricing.

I'm just afraid of pixel defects. The main reason I wish to buy direct from Lenovo is for the return policy, but I simply cannot afford a decent model on my budget. Lenovo won't replace the LCD under warranty for a single defective pixel, will they? If so, I'll feel better about buying one from a third-party.

Edit: Sorry for posting a new topic on this - I meant to reply to another thread... I'm new to these forums... My bad

No, they have a list on their website as to what they will fix under warranty for a dead pixel.

See; http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... IGR-4U9P53

That appears to indicate that you would need to have around 11 bright dead pixels or 5 dark dead pixels in a cluster for it to be returned under warranty.

You can, however, use the 30-day return policy for this. You can ship it back and request another one very easily if indeed that is the case. :)
