DVD Matshita UJ-842 not displaying contents of directory

Anyone experience this? I noticed if I use the device and insert another CD the directory never displays the content of the CD. Device manager shows device ready. I have to re-boot just to move forward.

This is intermittent but I always have to reboot.

I opened a service request with IBM on the matter. They had me stop the device and reseed the ultra bay. It appeared to take care of the problem however on initial boot up I now can't read media again. I may have to get the drive replaced. Updates will ensue.
