2623-D6U Owners...

Did any of you try to install Windows Vista on it? I can't seem to find anybody that tried to run Vista on this model. I'm mostly interested to see if Vista runs with full Aero Glass eye-candy.
It would be a cool review if somebody will give it a shot and let us know the results.

people are running Vista with full aero on some T43's with the 64mb X300, so I assume it should run just fine on a 64mb X1300.
however, Microsoft claims that we should have 128mb for any panel exceeding 1,310,720 pixels. Our 14.1" SXGA+ panels have 1,470,000 pixels so perhaps we can 'squeak by.'

I heard about people running full Vista on T43 with 64MB video cards, but I'm a little bit sceptical about that. I still haven't seen anybody on this board running full Vista. Like I said, it would be great if somebody will really try it.

I actually tried installing the latest build onto a USB hard disk but the install crashed. I'm wary of installing a beta onto my main drive.
I'll report back if I make any more progress on installing vista... I'm curious to see how it will run.

Perhaps it would not be a problem because of our hypermemory...and if we would pump enough ram in the machine...the full 256 videoram then wouldn't mind. Well, I am not yet anxious about Vista. If I succed after I try, I'll post the results

Works fine on 2623 DDU although some of the IBM/Lenovo apps don't run and will need re-writing for Vista.

He doesn't have 64MB. He has 256MB because the 2623DDU is a T60p with a V5200 in it.
I'm not sure why he posted.

Ops, I didn't pay attention either. I'm still waitting for somebody to try to run Vista on the x1300. I guess nobody is willing to give it a try
