Should I charge the battery on a new T60 for 8 hours or not?

Hi,

I've seen some folks mention that when they get a new T60 they charge the battery for 8 hours before use.

Is this necessary? If it is, would you suggest option 1 or 2 below?

1) Plug the computer in and let the battery charge for a full 8 hours before even turning the computer on for the first time; or

2) Plug the computer in -- and leave it plugged in for a full 8 hours so the battery charges fully -- but there is no need to wait until the battery is fully charged before turing on and using your computer for the first time, since you are running off AC instead of the battery.

Thanks!

You should be able to adapt normal charging behaviour out of the box with your new T60. Even if it was required that you charge the battery for 8 hours first off, there is nothing that says you can't use the T60 for 8 hours whilst it is charging.
