as far as i understand there are several different screens on the same T60 models (Samsung, BOE-Hydis, TMD) ?

im looking to buy a T60P 14,1 (no feexview) so a good display might be eneven more important than with flexview. so which one is best and do we have any options to pick which one we like best when ordering?

welcome to the forums!

unfortunately, there is no way to choose which panel you will receive, but the odds are most likely that you will receive a Hydis panel, based on what I have seen on these forums and elsewhere.

fortunately, all of the 14.1" SXGA+ panels are very similar so you should be happy to matter which you receive.

remember to run the cleartype tuner applet (download from microsoft) and you might want to enlarge the DPI if you are not accustomed to a high resolution display.

I sent back my d6u with a great display because of the dvd issue in previous thread/ I only found the answer after I sent it back... my replacement has a different mfr. screen, and it is NOT as bright and has slightly , slightly dark shadows in the lower corners, hardly noticable but since this is my 4th return in 4 monthe trying to get a fully functional think pad, I will probably send this one back too. Spoke to rep today and he said if I am not happy send er in. Question is... what will I get next?????

Lenovo consistancy does not exist but I still stick with Think Pads

do you know the manufacturer of the two screens from your D6U's? if you have the serial numbers I can do a parts lookup if you haven't already.
