How about this? Core Duo T2300 1.66 GHz. Is it fine or bit slower? I want a professional system.

I would upgrade the graphics. The graphics chip is not user-upgradable, and the integrated graphics is the lowest-performing available.

Memory and hard drive is both user-upgradable. For most real-world computer use, the CPU speed is not as important as he amount of memory and hard drive speed.

Save your money and get the slower CPU and a 5400 RPM hard drive. Buy the miniumum amount of RAM with the system (e.g. 512 MB) and buy the rest (512MB or 1GB) from www.newegg.com. Consider getting SXGA+ if 14" and do get a ATI graphics chip. Be certain to get the 3 year warranty. Depot repair should be sufficient. Buy from a place like Lenovo which has a 30 day return without restocking in case you get an LCD with stuck or burned out pixels.

Have fun!

Have a look here for the difference between various clock speeds:

Performance scales with CPU GHz on Core Duos.
