Problem with HD Audio Bus Driver / QFE
Posted: Sun May 07, 2006 11:52 am
Hi,
finally I got my T60
I like it, my T42 seems much more fragile. But yes, the design of the function keys is horrible. I mean come on, the colours....
Anyway I installed fresh Winxp and now the soundmax driver said that I should install a hd-audio bus driver. I searched this forum and one that that the ibm driver is on the original disc located in the other3 directory. i have this and it seems that it is installed.
but now i read:
"
If you are installing this driver on a system where the factory installed preload has been removed and a shrink wrap copy of Windows 2000 or XP has been installed, the Universal Audio Architecture High Definition Audio Class Driver (KB888111US) must be installed first.
See Microsoft Knowledge Base Articles 8352221 and 888111.
Call our Support Center to obtain the QFE patch. Support phone numbers
"
