Some software problem after a fresh XP on a T60p

My 2007-83G came with a german OS and i had to install a new XP from scratch and lets just say ive had a good amount of time of getting to know the system. ill list a few things i ran into and fixed but i also have a few things im still working at you might know how to solve.
First thing i ran into was not being able to boot on the XP CD, to fix this enter bios and switch the HDD from "ACHI" mode to "compability" then boot on the XP CD.
Second problem was sound driver. the sound driver is located on lenovo but that driver need some underlying software. to fix this you need some HDA (high defination audio driver) driver. just google this one.
3. bumb on the road is the ATI control center. if you get "CLI.exe" when trying to open the ATI control center its becuase you are missing .net frame 1.1 - i had already installed NHC (Notebook hardware control) which need .Net 2.0 so i didnt think i needed 1.1 - however, 2.0 is not exactly an upgrade so you need both. if the ATI center only show splash screen and then freeze you only have 2.0.
4. bump - and still not fixed. i cannot get my mute, volume and thinkvantage button to work. Im not sure if this is related but my power button is a little weird as well. i can power-on the notebook and if i keep the button pressed down for a few sec it powers off just fine - but in "power management", ive set the one-click-power option to "shutdown" the PC and that dosent work at all.
5. finger print is a little weird, its not always working - cant describe it more clear than that. its like it started out ok and got bad and now it seldom reacts. i think the bios settings is a little confusing. what i really want is the be able to lock the PC completly until finger print is used, then booth all the way to windows without ever using a password - but ive yet to fined the "right" combination in the bios and finger reader software, for this to take place. ive once got it to ask for both finger print and password before booting but thats also the closest i got. havent spend much time on this since ive got a few problems getting it to validate finger prints atm.
6. i wouldnt call my fan noicy but it does need a little tweaking, especialy because the fan is running at 3200 RPM and blowing cold ait out. ive removed NHC to try get fancontrol to work and it does lower the RPM to 2900 which is nice and with my powerplay settings this is fine for keeping my idle V5200 at 56-58c but if i remove the AC, tpfancontrol go crazy, so im still working on this too.
Other than that more or less everything is running fine now but its been 3 long days. i know that next release of NHC comes with fan speedcontrol, that way i wont need fancontrol which atm is conflicting with something when i change from battery to AC even tho i removed NHC, this might be ATI's Powerplay settings..
im a little more concerned with my thinkvantage button which isent doing anything. it does work fine when i want to enter BIOS though
if you have a solution to any of this please let me know thanks.
