How did you guys check Part # before it's shipped out?

I recently placed my order of T60 2623-D6U from lenovo. Tried to check order status, always 'In Process'. No idea where and when will I be able to look up the part numbers for keyboard, LCD etc...

(As an alternative, to buy from buy.com is $100 cheaper and chances are you do not pay the handsome tax.)

You can't check it that way, BUT when they send you a shipping confirmation, it includes the serial number and then you can see what parts will come with your system.

by the time I had my serial number, it was already on a UPS truck and delivered two hours later

Same with me. I had the shipping confirmation, then a day later a serial number and a tracking number (this AM in fact). That tracking # told me that I'd better stay home and wait for it to arrive. Which it did two hours later.
