Battery Time between T60 and T60P

#1 Post by arthurcorell » Sat May 20, 2006 1:41 pm

I ordered my T60P but not received yet. The model is 2623DDU.

I was thinking about to get 14" model 200764u because the battery time. I thought 14" lcd will use less power than 15" flexview lcd.

The only different between those models is
2623DDU 15" FlexView 1600x1200 UXGA LCD
200764U 14" 1440x1050 LCD

I went to Buy.com and enter the model number. It shows:
2623DDU up to 5.2 hours
200764U up to 3.8 hours

It looks like my model 2623DDU with 15" lcd have longer battery time than 14" LCD 200764U.

Then I was happy with my decision.

Can anyone who own those model tell me if it's true ?

Thanks

The DDU comes with a 9-cell battery which protrudes from the back. The other comes with a 6-cell battery that is flush.

Download the IBM/Lenovo Personal Systems Reference and it will tell you all the specs.

I have the 15" flexview display and it's just terrific. The veiwing angle, color saturation, clarity, etc are all far superior to the non flexview displays (ex: 14.1").

If battery life and a smaller form factor are your first priorities, then you might want the 14".

I have both and when I put them side by side the difference in displays is quite significant. In the tabook it lists all the specs, and I noticed that the weight listings say "up to 5.5lbs for the 14 and up to 6.3lbs for the 15". So just for kicks I put mine on a very accurate scale and the difference between my 14 & 15 each with a 6 cell batter and optical drive in place is only .6 lbs.

I travel constantly for work and I carry the 15" T60 with ease. I used to carry the 14 and was wondering if the 15 would be too much, but that has not been my experience.
