Hi folks,
Actually I'm not using the touchpad at all. But I found it odd that the touchpad is actually not secure but a little bit hovering when I touch and move it. Does any of you see this as well, or its just a defect? Thanks.

If the Touchpad is ON and you don't use it, it gets in the way (at least does so for me). I disable it (Mouse properties in Control Panel). ... JD Hurst

Well, maybe I misled you. Actually I disabled it too. I don't use it.
What I meant is not that the cursor is moving when I inadvertently touch the pad, but the touchpad panel itself is not securely put in my machine; so it is slightly moving in its position when I push it from this side to that side. So I was wondering you guys also have this issue or not. Thanks.

I have a T41 and the Touchpad is part of the palmrest. My Touchpad is secure, and the palm rest is easy to remove if I wish to check. I gather the T60 palm rest is a bit harder to remove. Maybe the best thing is to get IBM to replace it. ... JD Hurst

The touchpad on my T60 (200763U) moves around also. I don't use it because I prefer the trackpoint.
