Best way to clean the screen?

Hi, what's the best way to clean the screen? I find that fingerprint marks (and the subsequent smudges from trying to clean with a tissue) do not come off very easily. I have the 15" 1600x1200 screen, if that makes any difference.

I've been using the little microfibre cloths used for cleaning spectacles. You can buy them at the optometrist and they are nice and compact. To get rid of the stubborn marks, just breathe on the screen to moisten it up a bit and give it a good wipe.

I have been using KlearScreen and a micro-chamois cloth for awhile now, and it works pretty good; removes all the spots and stickier ones, and doesn't leave a residue...Polished enough, the screen will feel like ice under the cleaning cloth for awhile.

I use the same technique. Takes a bit of wiping to get it completely clean though.

Sunglass cleaning solution works best with the microfiber cloths.

shaggymac optimist prime and their microfiber cloth (I also use their larger microfiber cloth as a screen protector)

Use 50%ethanol and 50%Distilled water mixture. apply it with soft cloth and wipe it with a dry smooth cloth. It works the best. I have tried using lens cleaner and windshield cleaner.
The mixture gives best results

There are at least three answers supplied by the nice people here that are not included in the FAQ's answer. Does the existence of a FAQ suggest that no other worthwhile answers exist and that one should not continue to look for other solutions to the problem posed?

No, but an indication that you read the FAQ first and were looking for additional information goes a long way.

One word...ShaggyMac or is that 2 words... and get a screen protector while you're at it. The standard 15" is a perfect fit on my T60p and the Red one is hard to lose.

You also need to keep yours and others grubby fingers off the screen. I have owned mine for months and a t43p for over a year and NEVER had to clean the screen.

Exactly; I hate that, I really hate it when people go ahead and touch LCDs like that, unless they are touch screens, and don't think about all the grease deposits that are left behind and have to be cleaned up later.

WOW! Now I'm
really glad I didn't buy that T43p from you Greg.
I can't conceive of using a laptop for a year and not having, at the least, sneezed on the display
once.

My favorite is RadTech OmniCleanz
http://www.radtech.us/
no streaks from their solution and they also sell nice screen protectors that sit on the keyboard (same material they give you with omnicleanz)
