Inconsistent software updates

A previous post mentioned some software updates. Two questions about these updates:

I visit the T60 support site at:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... idate=true

and it lists lots of updates that don't show up on either Software Installer or System Update. I have a T42p at work and it has never listed BIOS updates on Software Installer. My T60p is now at 1.04 and there has never been an offer of 1.05.

Secondly:

The software Installer lists a Bluetooth update, The System Update lists Hotkey Features (which software installer already got!) and the Migration assistant. Why are these inconsistent???

I see the same thing. My wife just received a spanking new T42 from Lenovo. Surprising to me was that much of the drivers and software was several revisions behind the latest. I downloaded, installed, and ran System Update 2. It found about 9 updates. I installed the ones I wanted, but I realized that many were missing. I ended up sorting through the list in the device driver matrix page, and downloaded about two dozen updates. I executed the downloads to extract the software packages, then ran Software Installer to install them. (Note: a couple of the updates are self installing when one executes them.)

EDIT: I forgot to add, for some reason, System Update 2 reports that there is a BIOS update for the T42 (version 3.20). However the T42 came with BIOS version 3.20 installed. :?

I had exactly the same problem and also visited the lenovo site and downloaded most of the stuff and did the same thing like GomJabbar. What is Lenovo doing? I don't see a point in a software installer that does not get the latest updates by itself...

I am having the exact same experience. Hopefully if Lenovo recieves enough feedback they will move this up the priority list.
