Regular BSoD (Memory Parity Error) after docking

#1 Post by mmo » Tue May 30, 2006 2:10 am

With my T60p (WinXP) I regularly get bluescreens claiming "Memory Parity Error" after docking (Advanced Dock - the "big one") and waking up the system. They usually come while initializing the attached USB devices (or shortly after) - I know because my scanner makes funny noises when being (re-)initialized and the BSoD always hits shortly after.

Do others experience this as well? Any workarounds or hints?

Since the TP often runs for days and never has any problems when undocked and also runs fine when docked (either if it survived the docking or after rebooting), I have severe doubts, that I really have a memory problem. It rather seems to me that the docking and/or (re-)initialization of some device after docking is causing this. The BSoD also happens when there is no USB device attached and I have no board or anything else installed in the docking station, so it must be the docking station itself or some device built into the docking station (e.g. the smart card reader or so).
