Dead WiFi Card in T60

Has anyone else had their 3945ABG built-in WiFi card go dead on them.

Mine suddenly stopped working last night. Showing as ! point in Windows Device Manager.

Tried to uninstall/reinstall the card.
Tried updating the driver
Tried flashing the BIOS
Tried reseating the card

Same problem.

Error message in Device Manager says: "Unable to start this device. Error 10"

Testing of the card in BIOS and PC Doctor indicate the card was working fine.

Swapped hard drive into a different T60. Problem went away.

Lenovo tech support is sending me a new WiFi card.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

Don't laugh, but I once forgot to switch it on with the hardware switch (little black slider on the front of the T60).

Forgot to add ... yes the black switch on the front of T60 was set to "ON"/"green".

Anyone else had problems w/ a WiFi card going bad on them in the T60?

It had been working for ~10 days before it died.

I was running on battery (full charge) when it stopped working.

Generally speaking, if electronics are going to fail, they will usually fail soon after being put into use or else they will fail after a long time. This is the primary reason for burn-in periods that some computer manufacturers use to find out if the hardware will fail early on.

Update:

Replaced WiFi card w/ replacement from Lenovo. T60 is now working properly.

Confirmed that the problem was failure of the 3945ABG card.

At least Lenovo is quick on sending replacements out.
