Speedstep not present after clean WinXP install

#1 Post by cage » Tue Jun 06, 2006 7:55 am

I never actually checked to see if the speedstep was working properly on my factory install before I did a fresh install of Windows XP. From my understanding there should be an extra tab in the power power options under the control panel.

Is this the correct place to look? Anyone have any ideas as to why I can't see this option?

I'm currently running a T60P (200793U)

There should be an Advanced Settings tab in Power Options. Here you can set power management for the CPU and PCI bUs as well as CD-ROM speed.

Verify that you have installed the Power management drivers and Intel Chipset drivers. Speedstep is included with XP.

I ended up installing the 'Power Manager' from that page even though the T60P is marked as N/A. An additional tab was present that would allow me to set these properties.

Thanks for the tip!
