My wireless is randomly powering off.

I power it up, it works for 5 minutes and then it just powers down. Any ideas?

With the computer "off" cycle the hardware switch on the front edge of the computer on & off 15 to 20 times. I had the same problem and after "using the switch" in this manner, a good connection was made. Now it works everytime. Also double check the software control by pressing FN & F4 to display the power on/off status.

I saw the same problems, and I seemed to fix it by uninstalling the Connection Manager software.

I was having the same problem. It started happening after I installed NetStumbler, a program that constantly scans for and logs WiFi networks.

Even after I stopped using the program it continued to happen. It turns out that when NetStumbler shuts down it "Re-Enables" the Windows Wireless-Zero Config.

The problem with that is that Access Connections does not get along with Windows Wireless-Zero config and if someone (or a program like NetStumbler) enables it the two conflict and the wireless radio shuts off.

This is most likely what was happening to mcvosi, becasuse once he took away one conflicting program, the other handled the radio fine.

I am suggesting that you turn off the one that in my opinion, sucks.

Disable Wireless-Zero config in the services of windows. Google it if you do not know how to disable services.

Happened to me too when I first got my T60. It seems like Thinkvantage Access Connections don't work well with Windows Wireless Manager. So what I did was manage my wireless networks using the Access Connections program instead of Windows and its been working well so far.

Actually, recently, I had to configure a wireless network using Windows and I had no problem as well.

Your experience may be different than mine, but I have Access Connections 4.12 installed and that is what I use. I have the Intel 2200 BG wireless adapter with driver version 9.0.4.8. I have the Wireless Zero Configuration service set to Automatic and Started. Yet I do not have any problems or conflicts.

By chance, do you have the box UNCHECKED to: Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings? To get to that box, go to Network Connections, then right-click on the wireless adapter and choose Properties. Then choose the Wireless Networks tab. The box: Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings is located there.

Also, in Access Connections under Configure > Global Settings..., I have the box checked: Enable automatic wireless LAN radio control, and the box checked: Allow selection of location profiles with Fn+F5 On Screen Display menu.

Maybe I don't need the Wireless Zero Configuration service started, but in the past I did have problems with long boot-up times when it was stopped. I haven't experimented with this since my latest updates.
