Along with a Lenovo sales rep, I am custom-configuring a T60 with all the high-end specs but without the Verizon WAN option and its annoying antenna on the right (which comes as standard with the pre-configured top-end machines).

Question: Does such custom-configuration (eg, specifiying all parts that goes into) has any drawback or risk? Any other suggestion along these lines?

only risk is taking forever to get it..
when i ordered some they were put together in RTP in NC..
the basic box was shipped from china..
i forget if they had a made in the USA sticker on them..

also, you cost might be higher..
