Hi all,
I was wondering if any one has any idea of a Quadro /FireGL graphics card that fits the Advanced docking stations of z60t/T60?
Secondly if i have a docking station w/GC which graphics card is used for rendering ... will i have chance to choose which one?
Can i also simultaneously use the laptop's monitor or only external monitors work in a docking station thanks for your help!

Hi budugu,
there's been some discussion of which cards work and which don't in threads

and

It seems to be a bit of a minefield - some people have had pci-e graphics cards working fine in their docks, others have a much harder time. RonS seems to be the local expert

if it a good idea to buy the cheapest t60 and use an advanced dock to put a 7900 gtx and play games with it?

It is quite a good idea, but one has to be aware of a number of issues:
o The PCI-E lane to the dock is 1x, so doesn't support very fast data transfer
o The slot is narrow, so doesn't support large cooling solutions
o The compatibility between docks, T60s and graphcis cards seems erratic at best; some have had great success with certain make and model of card, others have had problems. If you do buy a card, make sure you can take it back if it doesn't work in your dock!
These issues and more are discussed at greater length in

with some 3dmark scores.
I also wrote describing problems I had in the thread
