Has anyone else disabled access connections and used Microsoft's xp's program? I find it does not disconnect at all and works great but find it easier with access connections. Anyone have an idea why this could be?

I use Microsoft WinXP to handle all my wireless connections and have been doing so since XP was released. It's the best for me, even better than access connections. However you will find a variety of opinions here and I encourage you to take them all into consideration. They all have their merits.

If I recall correctly, Access Connections makes it easier to manually create a profile than the Microsoft connection software.

I use theWindows XP service and am pretty satisfied, will have a look at the Access Connections when I am more familiar with my new Thinkpads.

I stick with Access Connections as it is far more versitle and robust than the standard Windows XP connection software. Profiles are a must have as well as an ability to see the state of the wireless card and how much power it is drawing in addition to other information.

I started off using Windows' wireless config, but after the card starting turning off, I switched to Access Connections, and now, it's all good.

I prefer Windows wireless configuration much much better than Access Connections. Why???
I used to connect my T60 in my school using access connection as windows wireless config keeps turning my wi fi on and off and i had to stare at the wireless signal every time, every minute and my 2 fingers get ready to click on Fn F5. I did that during 1 of my lecture and my lecturer stared at me and start cracking his british dry jokes. *No offence here* A few days ago, my R62 got wi fi big problem. I cannot log into the wirless network with access connection at all. I tried windows connection but there is 1 missing tab (Wireless). I restart my machine for 24 times but i still do not get the tab so i start a thread in the R series forum asking for help. This guy who stole other's identity registered into the forum and saw my thread and he started to help me. Halfway, he started to laugh at me and start to made some nusiance post about me and my school and some other stuffs not related to my topic. Bla... bla...bla...
After i updated access connection from lenovo, i start to use it for my wi fi but it made my computer lock and hang there for hours and made my CPU run at 100% for 10 hours and luckily i did not suffer from CPU burnout. The keyboard is so hot that it feels like burning my skin. After all this cork and bull bedtime story, i used:
T60- AC
R52-Windows Wireless configuration
X60- AC
Wireless On Off

I uninstalled Access Connections because I had a problem with wireless intermittantly shutting off. I use Microsoft's native tools and everything works great.
Access Connections has great features which I could defineatly use, but there's nothing worse than a disconnection in the middle of a download or RDP connection to work.
