Rescue and Recovery CD's - Are they the same for T60p series

I recently brought T60p (2623-D8U) and while trying to perform the Factory restore I am getting errors(tried couple of times) and not sure if thats causing some other issues further like the wireless option(Fn+F5) is not working and also the external HDD is not getting connected to the thinkpad.
I also have Thinkpad T60p's 2007-93U and and planning to use the RnR from this thinkpad to the 2623D8U.
Will it work? also was wondering if that will affect the microsoft licensing issues?
