I seriously thought about it, but in the end, I just couldn't settle for a 14" display. I got a fever and the prescription is a 15" display (and more cowbell).

do you need an amex card?

Doesn't look like you need an AmEx card because I clicked the Order button to see and they display all the cards you can use (Master, Visa, AmEx, etc).

I'm seriously thinking about the T60p model :) I first looked at the Dell Latitude D620 recently, but when a coworker showed me this offer, I'm very tempted now! hmm 8)

Thank you for information!
Yesterday I ordered T60P(200784U with IWS) with big discount(-36%off) by using AMEX card in web.
And Today ,I received shipping notification.
Both 200764U and 200784U sales price are cheaper than ever!
And both machines include wider IWS warranty.
This is the best chance to get a high-end IWS machine ,IMO.

if it comes with a 3 year warranty, why does it have to option on the bottom to do a 3 year depot and on site?

and do you get an extra -36% off if you use an amex card off the given price on the mywishlist? if so what was the price you paid for it?

How long is the wait?

Thanks in advance

Standard EZserv is depot service only , on site service is extra.
And I paid a discouted price for 200784U.
MSRP $3629 ---> Discounted Web price $2299 (-36%)
As of Yesterday,I got 15days waiting information , but actually they shipped it today!!

wasn't the 200764U $1799 a couple of days ago?

can you get the $200 rebates off these computers, the t60 and the t60p?

Nice, congrats NJ_IT!

I think I'm going to purchase the T60p later this afternoon :)

One question to everyone.. is it better to order online or order thru a customer agent? I emailed Lenovo the other day asking about a couple options to add, one is MS Office. An agent emailed back saying if I order over the phone with him, he can give me a discount on it. Is this true? Just wondering if I can get an even better price on the 36% if I go through him on a couple more options I want to add (ie. MS Office, port replicator).

Thanks!

Not sure $1799.....
In web, it shows $1899 for 200764U.

$200 rebate will be applied to only 'Top seller program' machines such as 2623xxx etc. It does not include 'IWS machines' such as 2007xxx.

I bit the bullet this afternoon and purchased the T60p machine as it already was configured and added the Adv Mini docking unit :) Can't wait!
NJ_IT - I tried on the MS Office discount but he said since it retails for $449 and Lenovo was already selling at $218, that was their discount already.

Thanks everyone!

Hey! That offer sounds tempting! By the way, if I order from the Lenovo site using my AMEX card, do I need to pay sales tax to CA or NY?

If yes, what's the tax rate? The reason I'm asking is because I'm from overseas and whenever I buy from online US stores, I have it shipped to my forwarder's address in either of those 2 states whichever is nearer from the sender.

Thanks!

wow nice 3dmark score!! And the 3dmark score, is that with the stock drivers?
that rivals my 6800 I had in my desktop.

How is the screen compared to the 2623d6u and the not t60p series? better?

Hi! I'm about to order one. Is it still available?

I checked the links and it turns out I can also customize a T60 into something like:

Core Duo T2600
1.5GB RAM
14" SXGA+ with ATI X1400
100GB 7200RPM HD
Intel abg WIFI (is Thinkpad WIFI better?)
DVDRW
6-cell battery

Price comes out at around US$2050 w/o tax and shipping which I think is still reasonable. Code is 2613ECU

What do you think of this setup? Should I go down to 100GB 5400RPM HD to save battery?

My machine uses Lenovo driver updated by SW installer ,
Driver version is 8.241.1-060324a-031947c-Lenovo(ATI mobility-Radeon/FIREGL-PCI Express-2 for Win2K/XP).

Talking about 14" LCD, basically there is no specific design difference(such as Flex view)
between T60 and T60P,only has slightly different characteristic among LCD vendor.
T60/p (14" )has three LCD vendor,Samsung,BOE-Hydis,TMD.
My TMD LCD has slightly bluish than Previous Hydis(2623D7U,200764U),but flawless.
IMO, Samsung is bright and whitish, so I like Hydis LCD.

I tried to check it .
You can access the AMEX wish list site, but you can not check out your shopping cart, maybe.

Machine 2613xxx does not have IWS warranty,is it OK?

Hi NJ_IT, I went for 200764U instead. :)

I really like 200784U but I'm concerned if the video card will work with most games. My Thinkpad is my main work computer and I play games occassionally (RTS and strategy mostly, no FPS for me). I also have no use for the Verizon Wireless card.

Does the processor and HD upgrade justify the $400 difference?

Honestly speaking, 200764U specs is more than enough for my needs (I do mainly accounting work on the PC) but I don't mind additional computing power.

If my main purpose to upgrade is for gaming, should I go for 200784U instead? :P

Previously I bought 200764U by Lenovo web with huge discount, but this time discount is(was??) much more cheaper than previous sale(around end of March?)
I returned 200764U because of center area stuck pixel and noisy Chicony keyboard in Apr. Anyway 200764U is very good machine!
I am not a gamer, but from 3D capability point of view, T60P has not been optimized to 3Dgame, by default Lenovo driver , 3DMark05 score is around 3500,other 200764U(X1400) is around 2000. I saw many same results in Gamer site .
I paid my money for this performance which is not upgradable later.
(and 2.16GHzCPU,7200rpmHarddrive)
If 200764U has enough power for you,you can keep it.
Or if you think it's worth for $400 up,you can select 84U.

Really? If you don't mind, may I know how much the 200764U cost you last March? I notice that most 3rd party resellers still sell it at around $2600+ while $3200+ for the 200784U.

I had a 2623D6U for a few weeks (just sold it today) but I like my 20074UH's keyboard feel more. How can you tell if your PC have Alps or Chicony keyboard?

My first T60 is more than enough for my needs but since my wife is using it now, I needed to buy a new one and 200764U is actually overkill.

I'm very tempted with the 200784U and don't mind even more overkill (T2600 and 7200RPM HD). But I'm worried that FireGL GPU might not be supported by games I like to play later on. I know the T60 is not exactly a gamer machine but I wish Lenovo offered an ATI X1600 option.

Do you use 6-cell battery on your T60p? How long does it last compared with your older T60?

I'm still in a dilemna if I should change my order hehehe

1)Price
In end of March Lenovo web sale , 200764U was $2099(before Tax).

2)Parts look up table
If you want to know your parts, please see FAQ #9
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... sLookup.vm

3)Battery operation time
I don't know the actual difference of battery operation time between T60 and T60p.
FYI)
200764U up to 3.8H (6cell) by Lenovo site
200784U up to 5.3H (9cell) by Lenovo site
3.8H x 3/2= 5.7H, so if 200764U uses 9cell ,it keeps 5.7H (>5.3H 200784U)

Hi did a parts look up and this came out on the keyboard...

For 20074UH,
39T0928 39T0958 KEYBOARD FRU YES

For 2623D6U,
39T7148 39T7178 KEYBOARD FRU YES

How can I tell which one has Alps and which one has Chicony? I like the 20074UH's keyboard though. :)

You can search the specific manual in Lenovo web by using your FRU NO.

Thanks! Finally got it. So I guess my 2007 uses NMB while 2623 uses Chicony.

Here's the weblink in case anyone is interested to know more about their T60's keyboard...
