EU t60 different from US t60?

I'm curious if someone knows more about this, but the thing is when I picked up my t60p I asked the dealer about the new BIOS update 1.06 and he basically told me that "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and that the EU t60/t60ps are manufactured / assembled and shipped from a different plant and don't have the same problems the US versions have. My t60p works just fine and there are no problems at all with it.

The data to prove this is very limited, but it seems that for example the grainy display issue after the 1.06 update is limited to european customers, while other problems seems to be mostly enountered by north american customers.

Could there be any thruth to this?

I experienced the grainy display issue. But I bought the laptop in USA. This issue seems rather to stem from a combination of bios update and the ati x1300 card.
